$5m or $7m is little difference, anything close to $10m or more is a huge overpay for a completely mid player.

Y'all make me laugh though. Fans here go on about how we have to get better, especially on defense, and are crying out to bring back a guy that would not get starter snaps on roughly 22 teams.
My only issue is I’d like to upgrade the position not let it get worse.

I know right? He’s only been good for two teams that play completely different defenses. Probably a bum anywhere else…
Back at making your conclusions my conclusions.

Never said he was a bum. That is you making stuff up.

Fact is that he was not that good for the Vikings and a potential cut candidate before Flores’ scheme. He’s been close to elite this season in that scheme. A level he has never played at before. That doesn’t mean he was a bum in the other seasons - again you making stuff up.

You can either stop making up my conclusions or we continue this argument at your level by you starting to show me all the all-pro seasons he had.

one of the best way to acquire draft picks - trading offensive linemen to desperate teams during the season - i want another solid tackle - even if we don't need them their value skyrockets
Agree..you get an OT that shows he can perform well in the league...trade him with at least a year on his contract... likely 2 firsts, at least a first and a second...especially if he has a few games at LT with no sacks allowed

For what it's worth, The Athletic ranked the top 150 free agents, and grouped them into 8 tiers.

In Josh Sweat, the Cardinals got one of the three players in Tier 1 (along with #1 Milton Williams and #2 Chris Godwin).

Still available as of now in Tier 2 are #10 DT Jonathan Allen, #11 DT Javon Hargrave, #12 Stefon Diggs, and #14 Will Fries. #7 EDGE Khalil Mack, #8 LB Dre Greenlaw, and #19 EDGE Malcolm Koonce are the only players at positions of need for the Cardinals who have signed with other teams.

In Tier 3, #22 EDGE Za'darius Smith, #26 G Mekhi Becton, #27 EDGE DeMarcus Lawrence, #33 G Tevin Jenkins, and #34 EDGE Joey Bosa are still available. #20 EDGE Chase Young, #25 EDGE Haason Reddick, #30 G Patrick Mekari, #31 DT DJ Jones, and #32 Poona Ford have signed elsewhere.

In Tier 4 they have #37 Keenan Allen, #40 WR DeAndre Hopkins, #41 DT Levi Onwuzurike, #42 WR Amari Cooper, #51 G Brandon Scherff, and #53 WR Tyler Lockett still available. #39 Robert Spillane, #46 G Ben Bredeson, #50 WR Darius Slayton, #52 EDGE Dayo Odeyingbo, #54 DT Teair Tart, #55 G James Daniels, #56 T Dan Moore Jr, and #57 DT Tershawn Wharton have signed with other teams.

BTW they have G Will Hernandez ranked #79 and LB Kyzir White #86 (both Tier 6), T Kelvin Beachum #92 (Tier 7), and EDGE Dennis Gardeck #116 and G Evan Brown #144 (both Tier 8). Akeem Davis-Gaither was not ranked among the top 150 free agents.

Any list that has Dalton Risner at 54 and doesn't feature Will Hernandez is trash.

Same goes for any list that has Dalton Risner above guys like Maliek Collins, Evan Engram and Levi Onwuzurike.

Lol… it ain't hard to read between the lines with you, especially when you say Murphy might not be successful anywhere else.

now why don't you go ahead and try to forward another ridiculous narrative to defend the cardinals, citing the oodles of reporting (which you couldn't provide ONE link to) surrounding the Cardinals looking to improve the ILB position and not just going cheaper, like you also tried to peddle a couple days ago.

Absolutely!! Kupp would make this offense sing! 2 years 32 million, DO IT! Plus, he is leaving the Rams on not so good terms. That would help us when we play them for sure.
I think he just clogs up the short field and lacks the speed to get deep and spread the field.

The invitation is open. Back-up your statements with facts first and then I’m happily provide mine.

If me stating that he he has been a solid average player outside last season can be supported by facts. But why should I spend time trying to prove your unsubstantiated baff when you don’t provide any substance yourself?

We’ll can continue when you show me the facts for his all-pro seasons. If my opinion that he has only been a solid player up until last season and not worth being the 5th highest paid player especially at a position where age really matters = that he is a bum. Then you stating the opposite = he’s an all-pro.

Same rules apply.

So please show me those facts and I’ll support my opinion

How would I like the rest of free agency to go? First I’d re-sign White and Hernandez. Both fit their systems and both will likely be value signings with assured performance. I would defer another Edge selection until the draft, but I think the Cards are in better shape than most believe if they can get a penetrating DT, like Grant or Nolen in round 1 of the draft. Collapsing the pocket will dramatically improve the rest of the rush. They already have 2 developmental Edges in Browning & Thomas. Unless a sure thing like Umanmielen falls to them in round 2, I might play what they have. Snaps will be tough to get. Of the remaining free agents I’d be bargain hunting. I’d inquire about Becton who would be awesome in the run game, but he likely wants too much cash. I’d see what Brissett is asking and does he only want to go where he could compete to start? I’d sign Elijah Moore. The draft is weak in receivers and he’s the best option to spread the field. I understand the idea of bringing in a mentor like Cooper, but like Kupp, he just clogs the short field as his speed is mediocre. He’s also likely too costly for his probable production. Unless they hit on a couple of these possibles I’d save some ammo for upcoming releases. Adding White, Hernandez and Moore would make this a successful free agency period.
