Theory:
Possible the Cards arent doing any real big game hunting until they have a QB they believe in. JG and Monti got the OK from Bidwill he will be patient.

Big spending in 2026. Either Kyler is the proven guy or their new rookie QB will get lots of immediate help.

Im ok with accepting that than Monti is just this way.
Jesus so how long we waiting? That’s likely another two seasons away!

The biggest weakness of the team, the interior defensive line, still ignored...
don't worry... we're setting ourselves up to force to draft for need at 16. Unfortunately, Monti's first rounders... or second rounders haven't exactly lit the world on fire in their first years, which means even if he does go DT in the first, we're still going to be unbelieavbly weak up the middle with any of the host of journeymen we currently have at DT, being backed up by quite possibly the weakest ILB duo of... Mack Wilson Sr. and ST/part-time LBer JAG from Cincinatti.

Sounds like a good way to get fired.

This is a battered wife take.

Us fans are so mistreated.

"We are going big in FA"
"MO is going to cook"
"This offseason is going to be huge for us"

I feel bad for JG because he is a good coach using duct tape and chicken wire last season.

We need to get real. Virtually every talent evaluator felt this was the weakest free agent class in several years. Why? Because teams were unusually agressive with respect to re-signing/extending their own players. Most quality people felt only 3-4 players were tier one and even then there were no sure thing Pro Bowl players. Why should the Cards be drop tons of money on mediocrity? I’d like to get Moore and re-sign Hernandez and White, but that clearly wouldn’t satisfy this board. Ossenfort seems to want to get under 30 year old players if he’s signing someone for 3 years+. He has a plan and I’m willing to let him work it. So far he’s done numerous good things. I’m going to wait until the offseason is over before I draw conclusions. Many on this board seem like the guys who bet on halftime scores. That’s not me.

Get real? The cold hard reality of our situation is staring us right in the face. Most of the good players have been signed - we're mostly through 3 years of Monti offseasons at this point - where is there any evidence that we're anywhere close to a competing team?

This is getting absurd - no offseason is ever the right time to build a legitimately good team. We had the 3rd highest amount of cap space, and are basically no better than we were at the end of last season.

Cooper Kupp makes a lot of sense on a 2 year deal, even if we overpay. I don't think he's washed yet. And is a good c9mpliment to marv
His performance history of late and number of games played says otherwise. 3 years running of mediocre play. 2 years straight of questionable health.

i wasn't expecting probowlers - i was hoping for upgrades - instead we've essentially improved on one position and backslid on another - like we're supposed to jump with cheer after the way we haven't spent the past two years - gimme a break - there are o-line upgrades available too but we're too busy sitting on our hands waiting for them to go numb - so we can spend another year fantasizing what could've been but hey - sorry we're such downers - sorry we don't get lit for every jag monti gets but this holier than thou is some bs

we're already predicted to be last in our division (again) - we're keeping zay jones and letting kyzir white walk - geez idk why this would give logical thought any pause - if one of our tackles goes down so do we - we have the money and they become more valuable as the season goes even as an investment standpoint - but nah - let's do the same thing expecting yada yada blah blah blah

His health has been an issue for sure - but he isn’t cooked. Talk about a mentor for MHJr to learn from.

I honestly have no idea what kind of contract Kupp can get around the league, but if it’s south of 10 mil - I would totally bite on that. Would be awesome to see him post some big games against the rams in vengeance

Occams razor:

Monti is operating under Mike B budget constraints. Said free agency budget was that you get one regular priced item, but everything else is from the discount rack.

I dont know where Monti is on the competency scale, but I am highly confident he doesnt think that we are Josh Sweat away from contending for a SuperBowl

Just going by AAV (without knowing how each year is structured) they’ve spent roughly $50m on the cap not including Mykal Walker, LJ Collier, rookies and a McBride extension.
