They can fire McCoy midseason but the damage is done. Hiring Bettcher seems not such a bad idea after all now does it?
The harsh reality is this: Steve Wilks is way in over his head. He isn't remotely qualified and every aspect of the team has suffered. It was a terrible hire. The only fix is firing Wilks and moving on, replacing him with a legitimate coach.
The scary part is that firing Wilks will cost a lot of money and an admission that the executive leadership of this team made major mistake. That is difficult to admit, and most teams would rather live in fantasyland, hoping that the system will one day click and that they are in a "process." The NFL doesn't work like that though and teams that wait dig a hole deeper and deeper.
Steve Wilks took a team that was 8-8, marred by injuries, and turned it into the WORST TEAM IN THE LEAGUE.
Steve Wilks took superstars like Fitz and Johnson and have made them look like CFL players. Trade rumors abound today about our future Hall of Fame corner. Just think about that
It sucks to be a Cardinals fan right now. This team has screwed up in pretty much every way you can. I have zero faith.
