Just a few days ago, you said you were keeping it, and buying more HDDVDs when they were cheap... what gives?

I saw what they were going for on ebay and also the fact that Toshiba announced big price cuts today. The end is near. I like HD DVD, but I got a good price to bail out so I did. I'll be looking for a cheap Blu Ray player as a replacement and companion to the PS3 or maybe just a upconverter. I've seen Blu Ray players on craigslist for under $200. I think if HD DVD starts to disappear off store shelves, which I expect it to, I'm not so sure HD DVDs will be easy to come by. I was also less than impressed with my HD-A2's upconverting. About 90% of all my SD DVDs were flagged "High Def output prohibited" so they played at 480p where my PS3 upconverts them all. It basically came down to the fact that if I was going to sell it off, now was the time.

The process of choosing 100 movies would be awesome. I would rely heavily on Excel.

You don't get to determine the discs, Amazon does.

amazon said:
7. Prizes. Thirty prizes will be awarded, each consisting of either one Toshiba HD-A30 HD DVD Player or one Toshiba HD-A3 HD DVD Player and a collection of one hundred HD DVD discs. Model of HD DVD player and HD DVD discs will be determined by Amazon.com.

MESA! :thud:
now you are complaining about 100 free movies.

Good job, the Karma bug will make sure that you don't win.
Thanks. Kick me while I'm down. :(

I said kinda. And I only meant that because you have so many, it would KINDA suck to get a bunch of duplicates.

Yes, I know...sell them.

Almost Nobody's Buying HD DVD, Says Report

In yet another sign that the battle between HD DVD and Blu-ray is nearly over, with Blu-ray emerging as the de facto hi-def standard, sales data, published by The Digital Bits website, indicated Wednesday that Blu-ray players accounted for 93 percent of the high-definition players sold for the week ending January 12. The week was the first following Warner Bros. announcement that it would no longer release films in the HD DVD format after April 30. High-Def Disc News also reported that during the same week movies released in the Blu-ray format accounted for 85 percent of high-definition sales.

I would definitely have the parent thread here though.

yeah, that's what I wanted to do. CM or CS or someone else would have to do it.
