We have been beating around the bush about this issue on other threads but now I want to know who you would take when we are on the clock at #8, don't post your whole mock just one pick.

With the 8th overall pick in the draft, the Arizona Cardinals select Derrick Johnson from the University of Texas.

I'm going to go on the assumption that we obtain Travis Henry.

This will shock a few.

Witht the 8th pick in the 2005 college draft , The Arizona Cardinals select...........

University of Maryland linebacker, Shawne Merriman.

I know , you think I'm crazy. But we could plug this kid in at Middle linebacker, move Hayes to the outside and we would be looking at quite possibly the best front seven in the NFC. For absolute sure the best front 7 in the NFC west. Some off you will say he hasn't played in the middle, but with Hayes and Dansby all he would have to do is worry aboutwould be between the tackles. He still has the speed to go from sideline to sideline and and hits like a mack truck going down hill.
It would be like adding another Karlos Dansby only bigger and nastier.
He would have a bigger impact than Vilma did with the Jets last year.

Think outside the box. You know Green does.

I'd like to retract my post above and heres why.

Merriman won't get past the Vikings at #7.

I'll have to rethink this.

The Arizona Cardinals select....

Pac-Man Jones- West Virginia

This is difficult because our pick is really going to be based on who's left on the board (obviously).

So, considering that the Henry trade is go...

With the 8th overall pick in the 2005 NFL draft, the Arizona Cardinals select Antrel Rolle, CB, from the University of Miami.

Can't see any way we don't take a CB to be honest, so I'll say Antrel Rolle.

If we trade for Henry, it would be my dream to draft:

Derrick Johnson

and then draft a CB in the 2nd and 3rd AND re-sign Hill.

I'm going to assume SF takes Rodgers and that means Alex Smith will fall to the Cards at 8 and be their selection.Cleveland won't take a QB at 3 so, barring a trade up by some team, the Cards get their future QB. He wouldn't be my choice but that's my opinion as of today for what the Cards do.

Rolle, dude is a stud and a playmaker, has been for a long time with all of the measureables to go with it.

He ran a 4.49, I'm still concerned about his turning ability and the fluidity of his hips.
