Antrell Rolle.
And, yes, there is good depth in this year's CB class--that's why we take another one in rounds 2 or 3.

joeshmo said:You say 4.49 like it is a bad thing. Just to put it into perspective he ran that 4.49 on wet natural grass outdoors in Miami, not the fast artificial indoors stuff guys run on at the combine.
If Rolle ran at the combine his 40 would have been in the low 4.4's. Some say the difference between the stuff at the combine and natural grass is a .05 - .08 second difference. Plus he put up very good shuttle and cone times, and is the biggest both height and weight out of the 1st round caliber CB's.
BigDavis75 said:I know 4.49 is great for his size but his turning ability is another issue.
joeshmo said:Again he put up really good shuttle and Cone times which measure turning ability, not the crazy numbers that Rogers put up but none the less good numbers.
BigDavis75 said:I was comparing him to Roger's numbers, which may be pretty lofty. So I take it you think Rolle is the best CB in the draft?
You say be realistic then claim with certainty that Merriman won't be there? I'll bet if Merriman and Johnson are both gone that Rolle is there. I think Merriman goes somewhere between 10-15.slanidrac16 said:After rethinking this over, I think we have to be realistic of who won't be there. IMO, Rodgers, Brown, Johnson, Edwards, Williams, Rolle and Merriman will be gone .
Yeah, they could. So could the Vikes. But if both he and Johnson are off the board, who takes Rolle in the face of those other offensive players still on the board? I think Rolle is there if that's the case.arizona_cards_11 said:With the Browns switching to a 3-4, they could very well pick Merriman.

HarleyRider said:There is no way you pass on the best PLAYER in the draft. The guy with zero question marks, and could be plugged in as starter from day 1.
Go DJ.
Mark my words, you will be hearing this guys name for years to come, in a Cards uni or not.

I like him as a player alot. He is a complete guy who can rush the passer and cover the pass. More of a finesse player than a real physical guy though.

Am I missing something, or should his job be to tackle the guy with the ball?
Nothing irritates me more than a person who will take on a block, but makes no effort to go for the ball carrier.
If it is your job to take on a block, that is one thing. But if you make no attempt to make a big play then what are you doing for the team?
