Robben looked good catching up to that pass, then his LASER went off the post. The follow up was good as well.

I was high on the Dutch from the beginning. That was the best they have looked so far.

And the Japanese are looking great against Denmark.

Robben completely changed the complexion of the last 20 minutes.....

Hopefully he can stay healthy... With him and Van Persie, they will be a FORCE.

The quarterfinal match COULD be Holland vs. Brazil. That could be a final based on talent IMO.

Assuming Brazil wins or ties tomorrow, Portugal vs. Spain will stop time on the European continent.

The US will not win the 2018 bid, it seems pretty clear it will be England, Spain or Russia. I do however think they will win the 2022 bid.

If England gets 2018, I will be there. And I will try to get to 20 games in 2 weeks.

I'll already be here and will certainly be getting to as many games as possible. I could drive to most of the stadiums in 3 hours, many of them in much less time. Should be good!

Finally. Robben is back. The biggest win tonight.

As for the game, not very impressive. Flashes of good football, but very sparingly. Still, even though it looked a little doggy every now and then, not a lot of chances against. All in all that's 3 games with hardly any work for our goalkeeper, 3 games with goals scored with some missed chances as well, and 9 points against decent competition. Not the best teams in the world, but certainly not the worst teams either. And we did it without our best player.

Maybe too many yellow cards, and the football has to get better. But Robben is on his way back, and he could provide that extra push.

I agree.... It's his lineup and substitutions that piss me off. I just dont want to overvalue him because the guys make the best of a bad situation.

During the game yesterday I posted this.....

And today, I am seeing the type of crap I feared...

Measured and meticulous, Bradley has U.S. on track

The players are saying the right things.... I just hate some of his most critical decisions. Lineups, subs, etc....

You know what? We can beat Ghana, then either South Korea or Uruguay, even though Uruguay is playing well right now. Yeah, that's right, we can win the next two games to get to the semis. So you know what? Down with Spain, down with Portugal! Gotta set up the easiest possible semi-final match!

Naw, I know that it'll be tough to get past Ghana and then get another win, and I know the Netherlands are already there and Chile will be too, but I have to have hope and it is definitely doable. That said, I have to root for the other half of the bracket to favor us, so Down with Spain, down with Portugal!

I think we can easily beat the winner of korea/Uruguay but I highly doubt we beat Ghana. I just dont have a good feeling. Altough if you count the 2 good goals that we were deprived of we would be on a scoring high.

Ghana is very good defensively not so much offensively(both goals in the WC scored by penalty--no more than 1 goal scored in a game since last November). This is a match that could very well go to penalties and thats more or less a crap shoot at that point. Uruguay/South Korea are more worrisome to me, they both play a much more well rounded game.

I worry about teams with speed. We just dont seem to do well against them. Last WC I thought we would roll on Ghana to move out of the group stage. Maybe that is playing on my mind.

I think we give up an early goal again.

I hope ***** stays on the bench. Our defense seemed much tighter without him.

Great reactions. It makes you want to tear up.

Donovan, Gomez & Holden have all mentioned that video on their Facebook pages...Donovan said it does make him tear up. Not that they probably need it but that has to be good motivation for those guys knowing that they have a large following here stateside who cares as much as they do.

I think Jay DeMerit is winning the lottery. Some major team is going to pick him up. I believe he is a free agent now.

Yeah, he is making himself rich this summer. What a great story that guy is. Not drafted by MLS, cut by the Chicago Fire in open tryouts, moves to England and plays with an amateur side gets noticed eventually gets to Watford scores the winning goal getting them promoted to the EPL, wears the captain's arm band a couple of times while they are in the EPL and ends up starting in the Confed & World Cup after not being a part of the pool until he is 26 or 27 yrs old. It is hard not to like that guy.

Remember Ghana got a gift penalty kick last time and a Reyna f-up gift wrapped them the other goal. It was not like they dominated us.

They also aren't a particularly fast team--no faster than we saw from Algeria(or Turkey in our Friendly), more physical than fast. Their center backs are similar to ours--big and strong and not afraid to knock people around.

The game is going to be tight and low scoring, likely 1-0 if it settled in 90 minutes, 1-1 or 0-0 if it goes to PKs.
