The one thing I didn't want the US to do is let in an early goal. I thought that would be it, but the boys did really well from there to bring it back. On second watching (Sky+ is a brilliant thing indeed) Bradley did really well in the middle, improving more as the game went on.

Clark should be dropped for Slovenia, but not sure who will come in. Maybe allow Torres and a bit of creativity? We don't need two central midefielders to break play up.

The US seemed happy to let England come into the final third and deal with the ball then. Howard didn't actually have many shots to save for all of England's pushing. I think England will win the next two games for sure so no need to worry there. We just have to make sure we get nothing less than a win against Slovenia.

watching Algeria & Slovenia now. Stadium looks to be about 2/3 full at best.

Not impressed with either Slovenia or Algeria so far. 0-0 at half and frankly it's been boring with very little creativity or flair from either team.

Awful isnt it.

Nothing much to fear for either of us....I hope!

Yep. If I were the US/England coaching staff I wouldn't even let the players watch this junk--overconfidence would be hard to hold back.

and as I type this Red card on Algeria with 17 minutes left

US needs a win against Slovenia and I see no reason we shouldn't expect that. Maybe put Torres in for Clark and start Buddle next to Altidore to add a little more offensive bite.

Yeah, neither team looked good there. US should win both games but 4 points I imagine will be enough. The fact that England dropped points yesterday means they will have to field a strong squad for the final game.

Man that was bad to watch........

Honestly, our next game is a must-win now.... And it looks like we will have the Algerians last with the possibility to get the #1 seed in Group C.

I really think both England and the USA will win out and goal differential will be the difference.

A 1 seed would mean missing Germany, and the real possibility to make the final 8. We have to attack that.

Our next game is hardly "must-win". A draw will not prevent us from advancing but will make the third game huge for us. A win of course would be ideal.

The US is capable of beating Germany--but when it comes to the final 16 they are going to face a tough opponent regardless.

I knew Serbias offense would struggle, but i didnt know they'd struggle THIS bad. Zigic and Krasic have been no shows.

Kinda disappointing in this group, when you think about it : /

This whole WC is having a scoring drought. 6 games 8 goals and 2 only because of bad goalkeeping mistakes...only one team has managed 2 so far--South Korea.

Goalkeepers complain about the ball maybe it's the field players who should. A ton of shots flying high and wide.

Everyone is usually cautious in their opening until the teams start getting their jitters out. They usually start out like this until the teams get more of a feel for the crowds. I agree though, with the exception of South korea, everyones been playing pretty relaxed.
