We sure could use a clever player who can play in the middle and create opportunities, Dempsey seems to be a guy who comes up looking to finish, not a guy who creates for others?

I think the last 2 games have shown that Michael Bradley is that player.

All Altidore needs to do is learn some soccer skills. :)

Seriously, i'm not going as far as Shzm saying he's garbage. But he just doesn't seem to have any visible football skills. He's strong, big and fast, and i'm not saying he's useless because he's clearly very valuable to this team (every team could use a guy like him on their team as a role player) , especially when playing a bit of an opportunistic style.

But pure football skills wise, he's average at best right now, and that's generous.

I would agree with that wholeheartedly.

Exactly. If he really wants to be considered one of the top 3 in the World he has to play better than he has done.

I must agree with that too.

Umm go cry in your sauerkraut. Tired of your Euro snob crap.
Thanks for joining the party after the game was over Slin...

Your German elitism is deafening.... We not only won... We were poised in the most important moments... That has to rub you raw knowing how crappy your team played just minutes after Klose's red card.

And Euro Snob crap is right.... I hate when the high and mighty stinkers come down just to whine and cry about anothers good play.

Your a HOMER.... and the worst kind at that.

I was much happier with Jozy's play today..... And to be fair.... Buddle MUST START across from him to make him the player he can be.

And I must say..... Ian Darke (the announcer for ESPN) was awesome.... I have watched the play over and over again and he really was perfect in the way he called the entire game.

I was really happy with Feilhaber's play as well.....

M. Bradley is really proving to be worth his weight in gold though.... I am starting to really love that kid.

Altidore sucks. Hes sucked in Europe and he kills a ton of plays for USMNT. Not a fan at all.

Give him a chance bro.... It was mentioned today that he was the youngest starting striker in the entire tourney... He needs patience from us.

Do I think he is anywhere near great? No. Does he play well in certain situations? Yes....

This is Bradley's WORST failure IMO. He isn't putting Buddle up there to bring out Jozy's best skills. He keeps putting these strikers next to him with no ball-handling skills. It's driving me freaking NUTS!

This.

I guess what sucks about Altidore is that he can't create a shot for himself (or keep the ball for more than a couple of seconds.) Usually, thats one of the abilities that highlight a young striker. Especially ones who've got european experience.

And to put it bluntly....

Tim Howard is the freaking man....

Those two outlet throws he made today were amazing.

He throws it.... Landon with two touches then a pass...... Jozy with one pass..... Clint is denied..... Landon follows up.

He deserves a ton of praise for how he is playing right now. I think he is a top 2 or 3 keeper in this tourney right now.

I am already tired of hearing this ESPN intro before each Cup presentation.

I was on board a long time ago. Was hoping we'd buy him from Heerenveen before he left for Germany. Unfortunately we were broker than broke with priorities elsewhere on our team then (Feyenoord Rotterdam), so there was no real interest at that time.

Would love to see him playing a little further upfield though. He's got a great feel of when to run into holes (like the equalizer in the Slovenia game). Right now he doesn't get into that position too often.

So basically Altidore is the NBA equivalent of Shawn Marion?

Do you watch USA? Jozy creates for himself with his speed. He doesn't dribble or use fancy moves to get open, he uses challenges and his strength.

He also can't keep possession in the box, where most of the plays that head his way end.

We need to let Ghana score one now. Much rather play USA and then Uruguay or South Korea then England and Argentina.

More ******* posts from you..... You aren't even rooting for your own team!!!!!

You don't play for a tie!
