I'm not saying you make Matty the starter, but Kurt is faaaaar off his game and only hurting the team now. End this suffering.

If jake del la hoya gets 7 weeks of bad play I think kurt deserves 2 bad quarters.

Wouldn't be a "Warner" day without a ridiculous fumble. God, that was sad. Way to kill the momentum Kurt.

I wonder if a side effect of the swine flu is being mortified of throwing a football down field.

he wasn't even able to throw it down field in the preseason. What is wrong with Warner?

One thing nobody is mentioning here. The play calling was horrible AGAIN. It looked like we ran the same 10 plays the entire freaking game. Not to mention that Whiz is pissing me off with insisting that Hightower start.

Beanie gives us the best chance for big run plays. The imaginative play calling last year that was responsible for many of the big plays last year...is nowhere as well.

Yes, Kurt made some stupid throws but a couple of those were not his fault. Having said that....it might be time to give Matt a chance come next week if Warner is having another bad half.

Then again, if this play calling continues to be this bad.....it won't matter if Warner or Matt is back there.

I know I may sound like I jumping the fence here, but Kurt has been pretty good up until this week.

I guess we have to hope Kurt got them all out of his system, today and will bounce back in Chicago?

As bad as our defense looked in the first half...this loss goes on the offense. The defense gave up only 2 field goals in the second half, and the offense could not come up with anything.

Well, I didn't say it in this thread but I did say it. :) Whis continues to be a truly horrible playcaller. Looking back, it concerns me even more the rift that he had with Roethlisberger, the Steelers' decision to get rid of Whis and how their offense has looked since he left.

Any time he's called plays as a Cardinal the offense has sucked succotash. Losing Haley didn't concern me as much as getting Whis back as the OC.

I just don't agree. Playcalling is always blamed when we lose, especially when we look bad like today.

The play calls weren't to blame for all the turnovers today and letting Carolina run at will.

21-7 the game is still within reach, we score before half and get the ball to start the 2nd half. We have a pass to Beanie called, it's the perfect call, they don't expect us to throw to Beanie, he's wide open, but Kurt doesn't make a good throw, Peppers makes a great play, and it's 28-7. That was the key play of the game. The Smith TD when DRC beat just prior to that was huge but we still had a chance to go in at the half within easy striking distance if not for that picksix by Peppers.

And that was not a bad playcall, it was a bad throw, the call was perfectly fine and would have worked if the throw had not been picked.

I agree, the play calling was fine. Kurt was unable to execute the offense today even when given opportunities to be successful. Russ brings up the int that was intended to the wide open Wells in the flat. I will bring up the int that Warner threw intended to Fitz. Fitz ran a great route allowing space to the sideline and Warner made the unforgivable mistake of overthrowing him. I don't know how many times it has to be said, but you can't overthrow Fitz. You have to give him the opportunity to go up and make a play on the ball. Kurt knows that, and could not execute that today. This all goes on him in my opinion.

No that was a bad play call. Down at home big and you are dinking and dunking rather than trying to get a score downfield before the half. This is a poorly coached group at key times.

Kurt is now second in the league in interceptions with 11, and he's third in turnovers with 13, one behind Jamarcus Russell. The play calling hasn't been optimal, but it's far from the only source of Kurt's problems.
