We don't need to spend that much in our backfield if we can get some legit pressure on the QB and not give him 5 minutes to find a receiver. Would definitely overspend for the pass rush and even an ILB. An ILB solves two problems. It gives us the backer and a safety because Buc can move back to SS.
Disagree. It will be harder to sign a pass rusher in FA than a #2 CB and we can have both if we get our pass rushers in the draft. We can also get our ILB in the draft as well as DL . My mid level signing would be Wisniewski to finally solve the need for a C as I am not impressed with the C draft prospects this year.

Love the idea of adding Irvin and hurting Seattle in the process.

We passed on him once, is there any interest?

I don't know if he was asking too much or if there is a legit issue with him. You have to figure the two guys that played closest to him would know;Palmer and Veldheer. He is 26. How much better would we be with Alex Mack at 30? Looks like he could opt out because he wants to win. His window might coincide with Fitz and Palmer.

He priced himself out of the market and there was a rumor there was something wrong with his shoulder in that he might have needed surgery thus teams backed off.

He played pretty well for JAX I hear and should garner interest especially from JAX.

I hope Keim is interested, I don't think Senlein is their top choice to start a C next year or Larson.

The Cardinals need to blow their FA wad on a big time pass rusher. Either a DL or LB. Basically anyone who can pressure the QB consistently. I doubt they find a pass rusher in the draft who will be an immediate impact. So the need to address this via FA.

My top choices of who I think will be realistically available :

Muhammad Wilkerson
Olivier Vernon
Tamba Hali (cheaper due to his age)

I know people seem to think Wilkerson will hit the market but I think NY doesn't let him. Yes they have Richardson & Williams but why can't they have all 3? They all are versatile enough to play any position in the 3-4 defense so its not like they need to get rid of one. MIA will keep Olivier because he pairs nicely with Wake. The only guy I could see hit the market that could help us is Irvin because SEA has extended everyone else but if Lynch retires that opens up over $10M in cap space if they want they could use that for Irvin. The draft is the best and most realistic way to add a pass rusher or two.

Note that Miami is in the worst cap state heading into the offseason. They are currently projected to be $7-11M over the cap depending on if the cap gets raised to what is expected or not. So there is a very good chance that Olivier will wait for FA to see what he can get. The Jets are not as bad as the Fish but they too are currently projected to be over the cap by about $1-4M. So if they want to keep a big ticket item like Wilkerson they have some major work to do as well.

I don't like Irvin at all. I don't think he would solve our problem getting to the QB.

Getting a pass rusher in the draft isn't going to solve anything next year. Rarely do you find a rookie pass rusher who makes an impact his first or even second season. The Cardinals need a proven pass rusher that fits their system today. FA is the best place to find one but it won't be easy. The Cardinals will have to be very aggressive.

I was going to write something similar but you beat me to it. Miami needs to reconstruct Suh's contract to even make the cap. They are not going to be able to franchise anyone. I think Olivier Vernon will hit the market. Cards should target him. Saw this on rotoworld: NOTE THIS WAS WRITTEN BEFORE THE 2015 SEASON

The Dolphins have had no contract talks with contract-year RE Olivier Vernon.
Vernon is entering his age-24 season and the final year of his rookie deal. He's recorded 18 sacks over the past two seasons and plays above-average run defense. Vernon is expected to command Cameron Jordan money -- five years and $55 million with $33.5 million guaranteed -- at the very least and may be a candidate for the Dolphins' franchise tag. Miami may have to choose between on-the-rise Vernon or aging veteran LE Cameron Wake next offseason.
