As for the state discussion, western states are way more scenic. Hagerstown has one true mountain, South Mountain, the rest are rolling hills. Arizona has majestic mountain ranges that rise from the desert floor, also Monument Valley.
Yep I agree. I have yet to visit an eastern state that I like. I haven't been to many, but none of them do much for me. I have been to Indiana, Kentucky, Missouri, Illiniois, Ohio, Tennessee, and Florida. I think Florida is way overrated and the others are basically nothing but farms and boring cities (outside of Chicago).

I went to St. Louis last year to see the Cardinals play the Dodgers twice (the Cardinals won both btw :)) and outside of the new stadium being pretty sweet that city is a complete dump. The other cities that I have been to including Indianapolis, Jacksonville, Cincinnati, Nashville, and Louisville (where I live just on the Indiana side) are all pretty bad cities IMO.

I hear a lot of people hate Texas, and a lot (probably mainly natives) love it. I'm going to Dallas in 2 weeks and I'm looking forward to seeing how I will like it. I can't stand hill billys and red necks (and there are plenty of them here) so I probably won't care for it much. I just hope we can find Mavs playoff tickets because I want to see the American Airlines Center BAD.

I hated driving through Texas, and Houston. I went to visit Minute Maid Park and wound up driving through the worst, poorest part of town.

Dallas is a neat city, even if I hate their sports teams.

LA isn't too bad, but let me tell you, driving on the Pacific Coast Highway will easily take ten years off your life.

That's nice to hear. Dallas looks pretty neat and I'm looking forward to going. Hopefully it will be a pleasant change from always going to Cincinnati for games. Great American Ballpark sucks. Hopefully the Rangers stadium will be a nice one. Like I said I really want to see AAC very bad, it looks like it's probably the best arena out there. My dad still thinks Conseco Fieldhouse in Indianapolis is but I keep telling him he's going to be suprised if we get to see AAC. Dallas looks like it has a neat skyline too.

Well, good game anyways. Always nice to start off the season with a win even though Webb really struggled. I got to watch 1 1/2 innings at school so that was nice. D-Backs on pace for 162 wins!

lol. That's what I keep hearing. When we went to the southern portion of OC I don't remember traffic being too bad at all but I guess it's a whole nother ball game once you get closer to LA. I think LA is going to be too overwhelming to me.

Dallas and Ft. Worth are two big cities that make a megapolis, reminds me of Washington DC and Baltimore. You can drive for an hour and still be in the Dallas metro area, seriously.

I was born in Buffalo & lived in Pennsylvania as a kid. I LOVED Oregon, though. I'd move there in a heartbeat.

Never been to Buffalo. Like most people, I went to visit NYC. But I hear Buffalo is like a big little city, where the people are friendly. Is that true or just crap?

Great win by the Diamondbacks. I know it's a long season but getting a win on opening day feels good.

I hate when I can't watch a game live and have to rely on the stat tracker. Luckily I dvr'd the game.

Very true, but that comes from my parents & grandparents, other family too. I left when I was four, so I don't know from personal perspective.

Nice to see Scott Hairston represent CDO. CDO won the state title in 1997 with Scott Hairston, Chris Duncan, Brian Anderson and Ian Kinsler. All four of those guys are playing in the majors right now.

Same with Phoenix. I'd imagine it would take you easily an hour to go from South Chandler, to Anthem. Or what about Gold Canyon to Surprise? Phoenix is gigantic.

As far as cities that are cool/uncool, I've got to say Dallas and LA are the two worst cities Ive ever been to. All sprawl, annoying people, just bleck. I hope Phoenix is wise and doesn't head down the same path.

True, but most people here know how big Phoenix is. I did love living in Phoenix and hope to be back soon. Los Angeles is out of control urban sprawl, reminds me of something I crapped out of Sim City. The rest of Cali isn't so bad, I'm not a fan of San Francisco, but I did love San Jose.

whiner. If you had been participating in the thread you might have room to complain.
