This is an odd story for sure. Too bad the trade deal line has passed, I would send a conditional 6th or 7th for him. He has LT experience.

I'd rather have Sowell and Potter. Jonathan Martin has struggled and IIRC correctly got benched. Plus I am comfortable with our RT position.

Martin will end up in Indy or San Fran, IMO

I also heard he failed a drug test.

Btw, he's been teeeeeerrible at LT & a reason the Fins acquired McKinnie! Thank god we didn't draft this kid cause he's worse than Turnstile Brown.

God no. His teammates were making fun of him because he's hot garbage. The scouting reports on he and mike Adams were spot on.

Weird story, he's a Stanford kid you wonder what the real story is.

Somehow Nick Satan is at fault.

Seems like professional bullying. That O line, collectively blows, so I can't see the reason any single player is being singled out by the rest. Ask Tannehill about his protection.

More to come. There is a real problem in the NFL with bullying and hazing. This guy has taken more abuse from the fanbase, media and Dolphin players. Last year the hazing with him did not end with training camp. It lasted all year and continued this year. There is that "nasty" rumor being floated around.

[sarcasm]I don't think it's that, at least not in terms of player hazing.

Didn't Arians say that it's we, the fans, that would have a problem with that?

Didn't he imply that the players and coaches in the NFL would welcome anyone like that with a laurel and a hearty handshake?

No, it must be something else.[/sarcasm]

Report: “Abusive environment” for Jonathan Martin in Miami

The situation came to a head this week, but Martin previously had “tried dealing with a slew of indignities that crossed into personal and family insults.” Marvez writes that the Dolphins knew that “cruel actions” of some teammates “went well beyond the customary hazing.”

The NFLPA reportedly is monitoring the situation, and the union has inquired about the treatment of Martin.

At some point during last nights game they said the Oline were in the cafeteria and told Martin to join their table and when he sat down they all got up and left.

What a HUGE lack of leadership on that team. I file this under jerks will be jerks instead of boys will be boys.

His parents are both Harvard graduate lawyers so I would assume that he was brought up with a certain amount of ethics and a certain expectation with regards to behavior as well as political correctness. It was also reported that he is also well educated.

Now this is purely speculation on my part but considering his background he may have taken exception to or declined to participate in certain activities that the other players took part in. Maybe he is not a drinker or likes to party. Maybe he's not into strip clubs. I suspect he was raised in a different environment and a different lifestyle than some or many of the other players. I think this made him a target since he was different.

You don't get the nickname "Big Weirdo" by fitting in. I would like to think that all that was important was his ability to produce on the field however it appears that was not enough for his teammates. I think he is more like a Fitz type of guy who always dresses nice and may be involved in the community. It would not surprise me if Fitz and him got along famously.

He apparently has something like 9 relatives who are Harvard grads. his dad, grandfather and great grandfather were, had he gone to harvard he would have been the first 4 generational Harvard grad of African American descent.

I vaguely recalled from Stanford he was bi-racial so I was wondering if that was the issue with Miami but after looking I'm now thinking he's NOT bi-racial at all I just remembered it wrong.

he's an extremely educated kid it could be as simple as his teammates feel he's so much smarter than them they can't relate who knows.

Weird story though.
