After listening to all the negatives from Charley Casserly on Kyler Murray, I decided to go and look at his acceptance speech on winning the Heisman Trophy. Take a look at it. He is humble, grateful and thankful to his coaches, teammates and family. IMO it's very positive on his character.

Here's Murray in the 2019 Orange Bowl vs. Alabama.

FWIW - Q. Williams is #92 for Alabama. He's in the backfield the whole game.

against that defense defense did pretty well, he threw some balls risking interceptions, but he showed the great mobility, probabbly in a game like that rosen would have been sacked 15 times

Murray Stat line - 19/37 - 308 yds - 2 TD / 0 Int; 17 carries - 109 yds - 1 TD

Funny thing on the stat line - Q Williams only had 1 assisted tackle, but he had pressure the entire game.

Q Williams was also on the sideline a lot during the game catching his breath. That’s one thing that worries me about him if we draft him. When a team decides to go up-tempo against us, will he even be in the game?

Another note, around the 13-minute mark in the video, Q Williams lays a hit on Murray that could’ve easily been flagged for helmet to helmet contact. This made me think just maybe Kyler’s height would possibly be an advantage with the way NFL rules protect QBs? Haha Kyler doesn’t really have a lot of midsection to hit cleanly.

What does a scripted speech have to do with a job interview? And how does that matter in relation to being horrible on the white board?

being horrible on the white board is juts a speculation ofcasserly, probably his source was a team trying to lowering his grade

Or maybe he was just horrible??

This was not speculation by Casserly. It is what was told to him by numerous scouts and GMs who did the interviews and sessions. Multiple sources. Casserly is the messenger. Don't shoot the messenger.

Here's something else from the Heisman worth looking at again. Anything stand out?

To your eyes does Murray look just 6" shorter than Haskins? Body mass wise Haskins looks like he could fit 2 Murray's in there.

There have been theories (not Joe schmoe but insiders) that Murray's height was somehow inflated. It doesn't seem likely to me how unless you are talking about a conspiracy or some trick like making his hair really dense somehow to emulate his scalp being higher than it is. I don't see much difference between measuring 5'9" and 5'10", just like I don't see much difference between 6'3" and 6'4", but either way seems way too short to be a #1 overall.

He's smaller than Tua's leis.

5’10” is adequate for a slot receiver though (get the hint, Kyler).

The comparison with Haskins isn't the one I'm focusing on. Tua isn't that tall and Kyler looks extremely short next to him. Maybe they included his hair height at the Combine? Lol

Yeah that's probably a even more stark comparison. Tua is listed at 6'1" (as is Mayfield for those who somehow think Murray and Mayfield are not far off in size) and he looks several inches shorter than Tua. It looks like Murray's crown is at the bottom of Tua's nose, and Tua's bottom nose to crown would be at least 6 inches. It just doesn't add up to me that he is 5'10" but even if true it doesn't change the fact the difference between Murray and defensive players licking their chops for a big hit is very concerning.

Yep, looks a solid 5 inches shorter than Tua. If Tua is a legit 6-1, that puts Murray at 5-8.

Don't measure by a picture. Pictures are deceiving. Placements change size. The closer to the camera the larger one will look. Murray is farther back from both Haskins and Tua. IMO he no doubt is short but the picture makes it look worse than what it is.
