You know what, if hes a consensus number 1 overall pick, Ill draft him. Skins drafted Rg3 and Cousins in the same year.

No idea why you would use that as an example. That was an awful draft for the skins. They gave up so much, drafted two QBs that never amounted to much of anything for them. That draft would up being the basis for the Rams, getting those picks in the rg3 trade.

Cards get - #2 pick , 1st rd 2020, 3rd rd pick
San Fran gets #1 pick

Cards get - #4 pick, #27?, 1st rd 2020
Oakland gets - #2 pick

Doesn't seem impossible. Unlikely yes. In this scenario you need Gruden to love Haskins and SF to love Bosa. I would do it. You still pick at #4. Two 1sts and two 3rds this year, plus three 1sts next year including our own pick

Oakland is still committed to Carr and need Bosa to replace Mack as they had this year's worst pass rush. So, we trade directly with Oakland and add later picks. This scenario has the advantage of denying SF the selection of Bosa.

I guess Rosen shouldn't have been drafted by that logic either. Been 30 years since they put out a QB worth writing home about.

not even close. Aikman was at UCLA 29 years ago not 30 (-:

I used that example because they drafted two qb's if RG3 was not going to be the man going forward. Same thing applies here. Draft Haskins if Rosen is not going to be the man going forward. You cannot pass up a prospect like Haskins. If Rosen is legit, trade Haskins.

Gruden will get strung up if he blows the very picks he got for Mack to turn around and give more for a guy who hasn't taken an NFL snap. The Raiders are using those picks to create the team in his image.

My example us just one way but there are many ways to do it with different teams. I just think its a possibility because of the way the draft appears to be structured and what we need and already have as a team. Im not opposed to your suggestion. However im not concerned with blocking San Fran only improving our team.

This is why i say its unlikely. I think Gruden likes Carr and are more likely to keep their picks. But Gruden likes to gush over the upcoming QB prospects and we fleeced them last year so you never know.

Our draft strategy should be improving the Arizona Cardinals & not worrying about denying another team a certain player. Anything else is foolish imo.

Although beating the Niners twice yet still taking Bosa one spot ahead would be quite swell.

Drafting that way & those thoughts are a sure Fire way to bomb the pick

When everyone else says the player in your lap is the best available, and you think you can outsmart everyone while handing your rival a key part, that's foolish.

It'd be one thing if we thought "oh man, the 49ers need a WR, let's take N'Keal Harry #1 overall." But that's not what's going on. We have the top player at a premier position in the NFL sitting right in front of us. If there was any debate about who the top pick should be among all NFL minds, I'd be with you. But this isn't like selecting between three questionable offensive tackles because no one knows what to do.

When your schools posterboy for NFL QB success is Mike Tomczak or Troy Smith then that makes me step back a bit and throw a much more critical look.

So every player that has a injury is a glass slipper in your view?IMO I would rather take a chance with Bosa instead of that POS Oliver or Quinnen Williams.Bosa is still the top prospect for the draft.

Looking at his family and their history with injuries and he already he having issues staying healthy, it's a red flag to me.

Joey had one season with injury issues and all of a sudden the entire family has injury issues?

Joey is already a top 5 defensive player in the league and he’s barely in his 3rd year in the league. Nick is supposed to be so much better than Joey and you’re here arguing about semantics?

I don't think I'm being ridiculous. Their dad blew out both knees and it cut his career short to only playing 3 seasons in the league.

Joey played less than half of 2018 because of a foot injury. Now Nick has a "core muscle" issue that caused him to miss the majority of this year.

Last thing we need to do is to draft a player who has issues staying on the field with the 1st pick.

PS - he's not a top 5 defensive player in the league
