what would it take for them to trade up?
That is the million dollar question...Is Bosa their guy? How concerned are they with his injuries? How concerned are they with his family (remember Joey had a pretty lengthy hold out due to contractual language...) if the answer is NO...(and I know there is a chart that gives "values" for picks) I would be willing to sell the pick for an additional high 2nd and 3rd in this year's draft.

That trade is probably undervalued, but it allows us to parlay the #1 pick into an impact starter and possibly 4 additional starters/contributors.

Heck, I would also be open to taking our RD 2, #1 and trying to get an additional 2nd or 3rd rounder in this draft as well...starters can be found in this range and we need quality starters...

We have a lot of holes to fill and need quality numbers to quickly turn this around.

That is just me though -and- this would all be contingent on who we think is the best player in the draft vs our soon to be scheme on offense and defense. *If they think Bosa (or whomever) is unquestionably the guy, fits our new scheme, then go for the sure thing.

lots of folks been talking about trading that 33... but you have to be careful trading away a top 50 pick... this draft may be a bit deeper than most however...

if it were me, I would use that 33 to trade back into the first round, get another top guy with the extra year of contractual control.

The trade back is a good option as well, I would be hesitant to do it unless it was a slam dunk...I think (IMHO) we need quality numbers.

I agree... but sometimes its simple...if NYG trade up for #2 that tells everyone they are going QB...but maybe they didnt like our price.
That lets any other team know that if they want Haskins they have to pay our price or he goes to NY.

I actually expect denver to be a player for QB...expected it last year but elway wasnt willing to deal...but dude was way not happy with his QB play this year. he got the best pass rusher last year to pair up with miller...he is only a QB away from the playoffs now.

The price for any team below NY in the draft order would have to be, in fact, more.

no doubt some team will try and get slick and trade in behind us,..knowing we dont need a QB.....its that other team we need to focus on
It would be foolish for a team to trade to #2, and allow another QB-needy team to then jump them and trade to #1. Giving up significant draft assets without being sure of getting the QB you want would be asinine. The only way that would happen is after the Cardinals make the #1 pick.

If a team really wants to be sure of getting a specific QB, to hedge against the real, imagined, or falsely-hyped possibility of another QB-needy team jumping ahead of them, they have to trade for the #1 pick.

Good. More pressure on the G-Men.

They’re sitting at #6. When the Redskins traded for RG3 they were at #6 and traded #6 plus two more 1st rd picks along with a 2nd to move up 4 spots. The Giants will be desperate.

Jaguars bengals giants broncos are teams in search for a qb, one of them will get foles by trade and another Flacco
Redskins will be in the mix as well
We can listen offers cause if they really want Haskins and not risking to lose him they have to trade for the 1st pick
We are in a good spot

If I'm SK I do everything in my power to drive up Haskins' value throughout the process. Media, behind the scenes and so on. He is a good prospect, certainly 1st round talent. Elevated because of no real QB competition at the top of the draft. As draft prospects, Rosen would rank slightly above Haskins in my book.

If nobody bites, Bosa is a nice addition who will help immediately. If just one team bites, it could create the foundation of a great roster.

QB is still the most important position.

If Haskins is a viable #1 pick, pick him and give up Rosen who was not a #1 pick talent and did not exactly impress anyone so far.

Having a potentially mediocre or above average QB shouldn't stop the Cards from picking a potentially great QB.

Haskins is only a #1 overall because he is the only game in town for this draft. He most likely would have gone after Rosen last year...at best, right ahead of him. Dude has skills but he is no Peyton Manning

I watch a lot of college and especially B10. I watched every snap Haskins has took. He is insanely good and not like most college QBs that are good in college because they are dual threat. He is a pocket passer that can be mobile if need be and can throw dimes anywhere on the field and rarely makes a bad read. Early in the year the receivers were dropping a lot of perfect balls that would have made those crazy stats even crazier

Just want to make it clear - Haskins is not at all mobile.

The modern Ohio State offense has always relied heavily on the read-option, but was relatively ineffective this year mostly because Haskins’ inability to run. It reached the point that Ohio State would bring in their backup QB (Tate Martell) in for goal line situations to have a running threat at QB.

Also, I don’t really love the narrative that the WRs hurt his stats in any way. The WRs were all excellent for the entire season. A lot of Haskins’ production came from short & quick passes with yards after the catch.

This guys is gonna be the next Deshaun Watson. I wouldn’t be so sure to pass on him if I was the Cardinals.

Except he doesn’t have anywhere close to Watson’s mobility. He is more like Roethlisberger than Watson.

Again - I just don’t want people getting the wrong impression about Haskins.

His mobility is nowhere near that of Watson, and I don’t even think he’s that close to Ben.

Ben is at least mobile in the pocket and good at using his feet (and his size) to avoid pressure. Ben is also at his best when improvising and buying time for himself outside of the pocket.

I don’t see anything involving mobility being a strength of Haskins. Ryan Day compared him to Matt Ryan & Sam Bradford, which I think is a lot more accurate in terms of style of play. Haskins is going to beat you from the pocket.

I did think the Ben R comparison was a bit of stretch even when I posted that, at least the younger version of Ben anyway, but that was the closest I could come up with. I think he is more mobile than Bradford for sure and probably Ryan too but he isn't going to beat anyone with his feet.

I’ve seen a rich man’s Jameis Winston being thrown around for comparison as well.

I don't think I'm being ridiculous. Their dad blew out both knees and it cut his career short to only playing 3 seasons in the league.

Joey played less than half of 2018 because of a foot injury. Now Nick has a "core muscle" issue that caused him to miss the majority of this year.

Last thing we need to do is to draft a player who has issues staying on the field with the 1st pick.

PS - he's not a top 5 defensive player in the league

The biggest skillset in a player is aviability, after that everything else starts to count, on the Bosas, that one thing is the missing link, Nkemdiche has this problem, Humphries has this problem ... and the Bosas have this problem. They don't have freak rare injuries... they have common injuries that occure in normal playstyle. That means a no go for me at #1. And Clowney is way better than Joey and still isn't the best player from that draft.

And Joey bosa isn't a top 10 D player ... maybe a top 10 DT/DE but even that is debatable for sure.

Nonsense.Bosa missed most of this past season.Otherwise he has been pretty durable.Clowney has been a good player but not a big star difference maker in the NFL.Has not even come close to the hype that preceded him.Ed Oliver mi8ssed bunch of time this season and parts of last season due to recurring knee injuries..so you disqualifying him from your choice?Qiunnen Williams just laid a big steaming turd in his teams biggest game of the year and he wasn`t even facing potential high draft choice across the line.....
..Haskins…...no thanks...

He doesn't need to do this.

If this is like every other year, teams desperate for a qb will convince themselves after his workouts he warrants the top pick if he merely looks good. Lack of supply will increase the demand.

Then we are in real good shape. Because Jameis was considered a bonafied #1 pick when he came out.

If we are going back to a 3 / 4 Bosa makes even less sense.

In fact it tells me Keim has already made up his mind to trade down.

Boss is a 3-4 DE not sure how you’d come to that conclusion

1. The "biggest skillset" in a player is NOT availability. There's no way you actually believe that. The 49ers once spent a 3rd round pick on Marcus Lattimore, who had a likely career ending injury. The Cowboys spent a 2nd round pick on Jaylon Smith, despite him having possible nerve damage in his knee. The Patriots sent a draft pick to the Browns on Josh Gordon, who had not played in like 4 years. The Raiders sent a 3rd round pick to Pittsburgh for Martavis Bryant, who has probably missed more time than he's played because of drug suspensions.

How could you possibly think that?

2. The Bosas aren't nearly as injury prone as you believe. I'm pretty confident that Joey Bosa did not miss one game in college because of injury. In the NFL, I think he missed 4 games his rookie year because of a hamstring injury, and half of this season because of a foot injury that the Chargers mangled in their treatment. Nick on the other hand tore his ACL his senior year of high school, and then had surgery on a "core muscle injury" in his 3rd year. I don't believe that he missed any games during his freshman & sophomore seasons.

They literally wrote a story on Joey & Nick's unique flexibility that makes them LESS susceptible to the types of "normal" injuries that you claim haunts them.
https://sports.yahoo.com/joey-bosas...k-best-player-college-football-161319002.html

3. I don't know what you have against the Bosas, but claiming that Joey Bosa isn't for sure a top 10 defensive lineman is pretty insane.

From PFF: "Bosa is now one of the game’s premier edge defenders, notching more total pressures (134) over his first two years in the league than any other player in the PFF era, despite missing the first four games of his career."

I also have no idea what Jadeveon Clowney has to do with Joey Bosa. 1) They weren't in the same draft. 2) Clowney is most definitely NOT the best pass rusher, let alone player, from his draft (Khalil Mack).

Just terrible takes all around.
