What?

So do I. Thats why Im a member of a football team message board right this moment. My point was guys started bringing Bad Karma and Good/Bad Deeds into the conversation.

Karma and Good/bad deeds are serious business. Football is not. Its something we enjoy. But someone helping someone else in need is 100x better.

Larry helping people in Sudan trumps Larry catching a TD.

So to have guys say my guesses at potential injuries is a bad deed is BS. Real bad deeds trump your worries for this game we watch.

Well grow a pair certainly isn't a compliment. Maybe it's my thin skin but the below comment could be perceived that I was acting like an 8 year old.

You know has Im not worried about jinxing the team? Because Im not 8

This is a message board but it is different than most/all in that a certain level civility is expected. Not saying you stepped over the line but you are spitting over it.

Thin skin it is.

^ and thats not an insult or attack on you before you even have to ask. Clearly you take broad, ranging thoughts and comments as direct personal jabs. Not the case. Just because something isnt a compliment, does not make it nasty by default.

That is correct

I do not feel bad for multi millionaires getting hurt while playing a childrens game.

I feel bad for firefighters who die while making $42k

what a jerk I am

I don't care if you sympathize when a football player gets hurt but it is hardly a "childrens game". I had a toy gun when I was 6 years old, it doesn't make war a child's game. I feel bad for firefighters who die without regard to how much they make. I don't judge people by their paychecks.

The leap is all yours, as is the useless rhetoric. I made no such comparison although truth be told, I'd have no problem comparing war and football. I long ago learned the difference between comparing and equating. Back to your point though, there is a huge difference between mentioning war and football versus comparing war and football. I mentioned them both, I didn't compare them. Also, I live out of state and rarely am subjected to Wolf and his hyperbole. As for the "Deep thoughts by Steve", thanks for the compliment. Stay classy.

That's a bigger loss for them than the stats would suggest if he does end up missing the whole year. He was becoming a favorite target for Flacco at the end of last season. Joe can't be happy losing Boldin and now Pitta.

Wow, the Ravens are going to look very different this season when you add Pitta's injury to all their FA defections/retirement.

It'll be interesting to see how they fare this season. It seemed a decent amount of pundits thought they'd still be good but with all these people gone I'm of the mindset the situation is trending more on the side of having a big drop off.

Huge. He was figuring to be their 2nd biggest receiving weapon this season.

But Ozzie is a magician and will most likely wrangle a great talent to replace him.

Really? Football IS war, so to speak which is why a lot of war-speak is in football lexicon. "Aerial attack, ground attack, field general, weapons" are all words used both in war and in football.

uneducated, unadulterated...bull ****...... spend some time with bullets whizzing past your head....football is merely a game....the terms were adopted by the sport because they wish to feel as if they are warriors.....but they are not....they are just athletes.

Karma exists for good or bad deeds in the world.

Not on message boards.

WHAT ?

Writing and posting are "deeds and actions". Writing is doing something.

But whatever......

Sorry this thread went from interesting to suck real quick.

Take the war talk, and flippin' karma talk to the P.R. board.

Uneducated. You don't know me you tool. Think I've never been shot at? Guess the police badge I wear is made out of cardboard. Now who's uneducated. Guess Sam Huff is uneducated as well: http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/dc-sports-bog/post/sam-huff-believes-football-is-war-without-guns/2011/10/13/gIQAtzV9hL_blog.html

Football is a ground acquisition game which is why it is metaphorically compared to war.

The real problem people are having is that not everyone walks around full of optimism. Listing injury predictions does not make them more likely. It does not make them less likely. It has absolutely no effect at all. Why worry or care if one guy thinks certain players are going to be injured? This is similar to the people predicting Len's injury problems even before he cracked his second ankle getting sneered at. Everyone's entitled to their own opinions and predictions, even if they don't match up with yours.

Denver's starting center Dan Koppen out with apparent ACL tear. He was recently signed to replace injured center, JD Walton.
