Screw that!!! Have you ever coached in a suit?? I have (and sadly will still have to wear a shirt and tie for one of my new teams) and let me tell you.... IT SUCKS!!!! The suit is bad, but the dress shoes make it just awful. It looks better yes, but I watch most games in pajama pants and a jersey from the comfort of my couch. Everyone should feel good when watching football IMO :)

are you being paid millions a year to represent a team? A league?
NFL coaches used to always wear suits and even if some disagree it does indeed add some authority....buy good shows and it aint an issue.....I recommend Allen Edmonds, very comfortable at about $350 a pair.
NBA coaches wear suits don't they?? and even players who are not in uniform for the game have to wear suits on the sidelines........ never thought I would see the NBA setting a better example than the NFL.

The NBA is played indoors with air conditioning on hardwood floors and the game is half as long.

McCarthy in GB could wear two pairs of coldgear pants under his suit pants, still freeze his ass off and look like a frumpy, lumpy idiot in the process. Leave the coaches be!!!! No dress shoes on earth are made to be worn in freezing temps for 6 hours at a time, none.

I am thinking not too many people bought suits when Nolan and Del Rio wore them. I am also thinking lots of people want to buy the sporty gear coaches wear instead.

End of $tory.

Wearing a suit adds ZERO authority!
