Kings waive forward Maurice Taylor

Posted: Tuesday January 23, 2007 3:19PM;

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) -- The Sacramento Kings waived veteran forward Maurice Taylor on Tuesday.
Taylor, a 10th-year pro, played sparingly after signing with the Kings shortly before training camp. He played for the Houston Rockets and the Los Angeles Clippers before spending the past 1½ seasons with the New York Knicks.

Taylor appeared in 12 games with the Kings, averaging 2.0 points in 8.6 minutes.

Philly is starting to win some games... starting Dalembert and Hunter together, no less. Iggy is playing great, it appears from the boxscores. Shoot, I was counting on them to do worse than Atlanta...

O'Bryant is unlikely to return this season

O'Bryant is unlikely to return this season

It appears that Warriors center Patrick O'Bryant's rookie NBA season has reached an early end.

Warriors Coach Don Nelson indicated Wednesday that O'Bryant, the ninth overall pick last summer, probably would not be recalled from his assignment with the Bakersfield Jam before the NBA Development League season concludes April 14. Golden State would have three regular-season games remaining at that point.

O'Bryant, the only NBA lottery selection to receive the D-League treatment, is averaging 6.1 points, 6.7 rebounds and 2.1 blocks in seven games with the Jam but has fouled out twice and shot just 40 percent.

"I told him if he goes down to the D-League and isn't a dominant player, there should be red flags all over the place, and he should be the first to notice,'' Nelson said. "He's not only not dominating, he's not playing very well. He's a long-term project. I really liked him the first week of training camp, but I assumed there would be great progress. He hasn't gotten better one bit.

"I'd like to go to dinner with him, but I wouldn't like to put him in the game I'm coaching.''

• Nelson said he plans to start Jason Richardson as soon as the guard is recovered from his broken right hand.

OUCH! There's a ringing endorsement from your head coach!

Last years draft sucked, but Patrick O'Bryant was a horrible pick at 9. He had stiff written all over him.

woot! with 30 seconds to go, DAL is losing by 11.
Dal will be 35-9 with this loss.
We're 34-8

So I guess we're tied with Dal for the best record.
yesss.

The Clippers just blew a big lead on the Nets. 101-99 Nets leading with 32 seconds left in the game.
Tim Thomas looked good in the first half

The Clips pulled it out with a buzzer beating 3 by Mobley. (Eddie House helped NJ lose, going 0 for 6.)

just watched a very entertaining game between my supes and my wifes t'wolves

also got to see MN fired Dwayne Casey - which to me means McHale really needs to go - he's made terrible move after terrible move - Casey was still learning his ropes as a HC, but given what he had to work with, getting that team to .500 and in the playoff hunt is very respectable - i hope they end up tanking the rest of the year, would serve them right

The Lakers lost to the Bobcats at home!
Looks like Lamar Odom is back and played 40+ mins.
106-97

Now, does that make the Bobcats elite too?

Can I just say that the Spurs defense is NOWHERE what it used to be. I understand doubling off on Kobe Bryant, but doubling when your man is going straight under the basket? If Kobe is 15 feet from the basket at the top of the key, it's asinine to double him there. If anything, all his teammates are gravitating to the basket to perhaps come up with a rebound, since he would shoot more often than not from 15 feet. Let him beat you if he runs by, and then trust Duncan back there to cover the basket.

The Spurs are a shell of the team they were 2 years ago, or even last year for that matter. The Lakers actually worry me more than the Spurs. The Lakers just match up too well with the Suns.

80-80 with 2 seconds to go in the LA-SA game, lets all just take time to digest that score, and then thank God we get to watch the Suns.

How the heck did the Lakers lose that game? The Spurs only shot 33% for the entire game.

Even though the spurs won, based on what i've seen this season, I actually would rather play the spurs in the second round than the lakers.

Now in a perfect world I would reall ywant houston/utah, that would be a quick series, but if it was between the spurs and lakers, I actually the think the lakers are a tougher matchup.

The Utah-SA game is 20-17 at the end of the 1st quarter. My word, be thankful for the Suns guys- otherwise we'd have to watch "fundamental" basketball- which apparently includes ending the quarter with about 7 missed open shots.

How would the Mavericks know?

I knew some wise *** would say that. . . the comment was made about the Spurs. . . and I think it's kinda lame that any Sun or Mav fan would bash the Spurs for WINNING while shooting a low %. Show some respect.

Don't you remember? The Mavs snuck past San Antonio thanks to a stupid foul by Ginobli. Then they beat us without Amare, KT, and an injured Bell in six games, earning a trip to the Finals. In the Finals they quickly went up two games to zero on the Heat. I stopped watching after that because it was clear that the Mavs were going to easily finish off an inferior Eastern Conference team. The only thing in question was the parade route.
