There is a scroll going across NFL network right now.

It says “Kyler Murray has a 13.7 passer rating this year when under pressure. Worst in the NFL.”

SMH listen I understand that many QBs will have a drop off when pressured. But should your #1 overall pick, generational talent, 1/4 billion dollar contract QB be last in the NFL in that stat?

I remember seeing some really good QBs that have a pretty damn good passer rating when under pressure. They thrive under pressure.

So what’s our QBs problem?

The normal drop off is 20-30 in passer rating. So a QB might go from 90 to 65 under pressure.

I've never seen a number as low as 13.5 for a starting QB over this many games.

From PFF regarding Murray under pressure

"Murray has been neutralized through the air against heavy duress. His turnover-worthy play percentage (6.5%) severely outweighs his big-time throw rate (0%), and he's been only able to muster 3.2 yards per attempt across 62 tries."

OTC valuations through weeks 8 Kyler makes the top 10 for being $11m overpaid.

Think think PJ Walker is worth more.

Well when your arm is like 1.25 feet long even a standard wrist band is going to look like a sleeve on you *******.

Dude is uncoachable. He is a cancer that kills the host organization. And the guy who should be trying to fix it failed college so…

This team is so unlikeable

For the first time ever, I actually liked what I saw out of Murray last week.
He was engaged on the sidelines and finally looked like he cared. That was a good change and a step in the right direction. At least he’s showing some fire.

10 days of criticism will do that to you. Let’s see if it sticks.

Do you want a 5-10 QB standing in the pocket and taking hits?

Palmer is 6-5 and here is his injury list:

You must be registered for see images attach

When you have to yes. It's a requirement of the game.

So in game winning situations, in the red zone, if having to come from behind. If taking the hit is the difference between a TD or continuing the drive I want him to take the hit.

The other thing that infuriates me is when he runs out of bounds a yard short of 1st down untouched instead of taking a minor hit from a cornerback or safety and quite easily getting the 1st. DB's have stopped really trying because they know they just have to get near and he runs out of bounds.

It frequently makes a difference. Just last week it happened just before the botched snap.

Kyler runs out leaving 2nd and 2. On the next down we false start and make it 2nd and 7. On the next play the defense are jumping at the bit on 3rd down and it spooks the Price into snapping early.

If we get the first down on the first play it's a completely different situation.

I understand what your saying Brit but he isn't Josh Allen.

Definitely needs more awareness on some of those plays though.

No he isn't but that's not the comparison.

He's short, but he's not little. He's a gym rat and he's very muscular. He's as well built as Russ Wilson. More so than someone like Drew Brees or Baker Mayfield. He's surely 215lbs+.

What does being every so slightly shorter than those guys make to his injury risk? Height has nothing to do with it.

Wilson, Brees and Mayfield all stand in the pocket and take hits when they need to. They can QB sneak. If they run they are not afraid to take a hit to get the first down. I doubt Jalen Hurts has 10lbs on Kyler but he's not running out of bounds short of 1st down and he has QB sneaked dozens of times this year.

Nobody says that Hollywood or Rondale at 180lb shouldn't have to play physical football. Steve Smith was the same height and probably 10lbs lighter than Kyler but was a very physical receiver. Barely missed any time in a 15 year career.

There is absolutely no reason Kyler can't do all those things. This idea that Kyler is only ickle so he has to play a different brand of football to every other quarterback that ever played is something Kyler has created himself and Kingsbury has allowed.

It's complete BS.

Brit is right here. Murray eschews contact so much yet he is listed at 207 LBS. and that makes him as big as a fair number of RBs in the NFL.

It’s such a lose-lose situation.

If Kyler found himself & played like a MVP again, that would just prolong any chance of cleaning house above him & also prolong getting this super flawed roster fix. It’s too flawed to the point of believing “anything can happen once you get into the playoffs” rhetoric.

Continues to play underwhelming, it looks like one of the worst contracts in the league.

I wish that 7-0 start didn’t happen last season.

And that's his combine number. He's way bigger now. Easily 215lb. If not 220lb.

Drew Brees played at 215lb and didn't shirk hits or avoid QB sneaks.

Kyler is bigger than Eno and he's running into 300lb guys all game!

I agree with your overall premise but the truth is if he gets hit and gets hurt everyone's gonna be like why didn't he slide, why didn't he run out of bounds, what terrible field awareness.

Short of winning it all, this dude will always be criticized. And maybe that's fair at his price tag.

Injuries are part of the game. I don't think anyone would criticize him for playing the game like every other quarterback does.

I'm not suggesting he runs into a 200lb safety that has him dead to rights. Unless were behind late in a game and taking that hit is the difference between a 1st down and 3rd and 2 or 4th and 2.

People talk about him as if it's a given he will get hurt but thousands of players have played football smaller than Kyler without issue. There's no reason we can't sneak and Kyler can't lower his shoulder ONLY in crucial situations.

We've all seen in run out of bounds 1-2 yards short of a TD a dozen times.

Yeah I deleted my post before you replied., I'm not here to decide whether Kyler needs to take more hits. Y'all make good points. Carry on.

I'd at least like to see him DIVE for more yards. That isn't the same as putting your shoulder down and trying to run through someone.

my most recent theory (about 50% serious):

i think his brain is locked up. I really think he is studying more, but its filling his head with thoughts vs. just playing.
to paraphrase Amy Adams in Talledega Nights:

"Kyler Murray is not a thinker. Kyler Murray is a thrower. He is a doer, and that's what you need to do. You don't need to think."
