geeze fellas....... Eli is so damned envious of Peyton he would not even attend the same college as his big brother because he did not want to live in his shadow.........as brutal as new yorkers can be,...ya really think both Manning brothers can survive together in that city?

By my understanding of the dates involved....Manning is due his bonus five days before Kolb is due his??

So,.....five days to see if there is mutual interest and everyone is in the same ballpark....it is doable....

I still think they will keep Peyton and trade the Luck sweepstakes....rumor says that pick is worth three number ones.....Colts take 2 number ones and this years entire draft....trade a one next year combined with a three and two fours this year to acquire a late first rounder......

Hit draft day 2012 with 3 first round picks, 2 seconds, a third, 2 fifths, sixths, and sevenths.....and use those first six picks to make their team a contender right away with Peyton under center............

I second this opinion. The first year in a new system, he will struggle and his critics will point to it being a sign that he is done.
I would take a struggling Peyton over the likes of John Kolb.

Guys need to understand Peyton wouldnt be nearly as good on a team other than the Colts.

that offense is tailored around him. He is the OC. The plays he calls are of his own doing. The guys on that offense have been in it for a very long time and understand it.

Drop him in a new team where none of the players understand his playcalling, or he has to run the play his OC calls. I have no doubt hed do great because hes a great QB, but at the same time, alot of his success stems from the system that purely built around him.

If Whiz could adjust a system to best use the talents of a Kurt Warner, he can do the same with Peyton Manning.

It does sound impossible, but Manning is a different sort of guy. The thought of playing with a once in a generation wide receiver may just be what tips the scales in the Cards favor. Manning is and always has been about his legacy to the game. What better way then to play his last part of his career with the Willie Mays (Larry Fitzgerald) of this generation of receivers.

Its a long shot at best. But the Fitzgerald factor would play huge with a guy like Manning. Peyton is the ultimate perfectionist. It would make sense that playing with the perfect receiver would be very appealing to him.

I recall hearing about Peyton Manning talking to reporters about throwing passes to Fitz at a Pro Bowl practice and how amazed he was at Fitzgerald's skills. Does anyone else recall this? I think it was back early in Larry's career (2005/06 Pro Bowl)?

That Peyton may want to play with Fitz is most certainly part of the "dynamics" of his decision making.

Peyton -- you arent getting $28 million.

Well, of course not. Everyone knows those things are put into contracts to force both parties back to the negotiating table and to make the agent look good when he could say his client signed a $60 million dollar deal. But they get guys signed. We chastised the Bidwills for years for NOT doing contracts like that.

Manning wouldn't be getting that money if he were 29, with no neck issues and the Colts had just finished 11-5. So that money is irrelevant to whether he stays or leaves Indianapolis.

As for Luck, he has no say in where he goes to play. If he sits out a year he no longer is the best QB prospect to come out of college since Manning and would lose millions.

I look at Luck's options. Go to a solid franchise like Indy that won 105 games in 9 years and get a couple of years of seasoning, or be like Sam Bradford, go to a crummy team, play right away, and win 3 or 4 games a year, and have people talking about replacing you after only 2 seasons, for the same money. I know I'd go with the first option.

Of the teams that would realistically have the abilty to sign Manning, the Cardinals have to be in the running...

Add that to the fact that he can bring Wayne with him to pair him up with arguably the top reciever in the league, in a very winnable division, with a good defense and improved running game...

Add a first round pick of a LT, and you have a formula for a favorble destination..

I can see it..

Luck could pull an Eli on draft day.............

Do you think a guy could get away with that with the new CBA salary restrictions? Especially with a team like the Colts that could easily say "fine sit out a year, we've got Peyton Manning"?

Has absolutely nothing to do with whether on not he comes to AZ. The dynamics of a trade/money payed etc.. That's what it will boild down to. Ofthings more or less.

Agreed

Peyton may even ask to get his release. The team will try to move back his bonus and try to trade him. Cards may even look at trading Kolb for Manning and asking the Colts to take $7 mill of the cap hit. The Cards would then owe $14 mill of the hit....only 7 more than they would have with Kolb. I can see ownership agreeing to this (Cards side).

Peyton doesn't want to be rebuilding with them for another year only to be shipped off and they don't need $50 mill tied up in qb's.

Hello AZ!
Easy division.

You are incorrect because you said it is impossible.

Plus you are usually as wrong as a broken clock most of the day. Welcome to AZ, Mr. Manning!

Lacanfora said tonight that he's talked to numerous GM's around the league and the consensus is that Indianapolis is going to go with a major youth movement next season. Vets like Saturday, Mathis and Wayne are most likely gone.

If that happens then there's no chance that Manning is a Colt next season.

There is a lot of trade talk associated with Manning. I am not sure Indy could trade him because of the cap ramifacations. If he was traded wouldn't they have to take that cap hit all next year? I am by no means a cap expert so maybe someone can can chime in.

Shane you are incorrect. It is possible but it is improbable.

Ok if u wanna say that the odds of it happening are about .00000000000000000000000009% of occurring then I'll agree with you both. Is there a chance? in that way of thinking sure. But we and you guys deep down inside no better. This ain't happening!

I would say the odds are better than that. I would say about 1 in 24 or so. I figure there are 31 teams left and at least 7 of those that wouln't be interested.
