Apparently Casserly got Arizona from the Manning Camp...........

So if it's true AZ is on the short list the only question is would Whiz/Graves/Bidwill be smart enough and non-loyal enough to send Kolb packing after he moved his entire family here?

Tough call...................

kolb is making the money to send himself and his family somewhere else

Hardly disloyal. The Bidwill loyalty is foremost to their franchise and it's their millions with little return that would be paying his relocation expenses.

I agree i'm just hoping they're not so committed to Kolb that they wouldn't consider Manning if he were available. I'm just paranoid with this team's decision making. If PM is healthy we should go after him as hard as we can.

"Tough call?" Hardly. If Manning is healthy you move heaven and earth to get him. He'll get us to the super bowl.

agreed. Jersey & ticket sales would make this a great football and business move. No matter the cost. Even if it is a 25 million dollar cost.

No such thing.

The stadium is already sold out every week, and jersey sales are not going to make this a profitable decision.

Signing him has wide implications for both the cap and the overall football operations budget.

That said: If he's healthy; the coach wants him and the Bidwill's are willing to pay the freight... why not?

Season ticket sales would go through the roof. Everybody and their mother knows that filling the stadium became much harder this year than in past years. In some cases, I am guessing prices were reduced last minute to make the streak stay intact.

How would the Cards front office like to sell out the entire season by September 1st? THAT is what he would do to our ticket sales.

Playoff games would be almost guaranteed which would bring extra revenue. Can that be guaranteed without him? Nope.

His jersey would either be #1 or #2 in sales if he came here. Who was #1 for us this year? And where did he rank in the NFL? No clue.

Of course..... He has to be healthy first. And that is a big if.

But if he is...... You do everything to get him.

Can't be guaranteed with or without him.

I'm not opposed but it will have to make sense to the bean counters and team management, and neither you or I know all of the implications of this type of investment, short - medium and long term.

No, but come on. You've got to admit that Manning is capable of making a team a contender all by himself (ala Elway and Marino of the 80's). Just look at the Colts without him this year--that team was supposed to compete for the division this year, then he didn't play and they have the #1 pick.

Manning is THAT good.

Before 3 serious neck surgeries I would give you that.

The club level was less than 50% full for every game except the Steelers game. Those seats don't count in the sellout requirement, but that is a big chunk of money the Cards couldn't collect this year.

I think there is zero chance of Manning being available, but I wanted to point that out.

Of course Manning would have a financial impact on the team and would drive ticket sales and jersey sales through the roof. This goes without saying.

It also goes without saying that if Manning is fully healthy, the Manning-to-Fitzgerald connection would give nightmares to every d in the NFL and the Card offense would be nearly unstoppable.

Big ifs all around here however.

I think just about everyone here has put forth the caveat that he'd need to be healthy.

Also, I think you'd give that to me before 2 serious neck injuries. He was still arguably the best in the game the last time he played.

How many did he go to in 13 years in Indy?

How good were his teams vs how much did he carry them on his back? He never had a defense and he rarely had a running game (even the success they had running the ball was likely due to defenses selling out on defending the pass).

At the very least Manning is a ticket to the post-season for AZ. But I think he could "ride" Horton's defense and (the new and improved 2012) Beanie to the big game.

...That said, I still think he's a Colt next year.

There's no disputing that friend.

If our D stays at the same level we will have a better D than he EVER had in Indy. And the fact of the matter is so long as we retain CC, we are getting Toler back, as well as a healthy Rhodes, and should be BETTER.

Has absolutely nothing to do with whether on not he comes to AZ. The dynamics of a trade/money payed etc.. That's what it will boild down to. Ofthings more or less.

So Manning possibly wanting to join Fitz in AZ, has nothing to do with the wider "dynamics" of whether Manning would join the Cards?

(Only in your mind)

He's coming. When have I ever been wrong before? ;)

Sign Peyton 3/8 morning cut Kolb that night.

Honestly part of me thinks if 49ers go to or god forbid win the Super Bowl, it will push the Cardinals in Peytons direction that much more.

I'm just not sure this thinking is the right thinking & it smells like the day the Cards signed Emmitt Smith.

How can anyone in their outright mind say we should sign Peyton in 2 months when he's cut without even knowing he will ever play again? I just don't get this thinking. Doctors said last year he would be able to play, then had another surgey & I'm pretty sure nobody will know if he's a go until TC or the start of the season.

I agree.... Tons of if's. And I believe the Cardinals will never be lucky enough for all of this to come true.

But if he is healthy...... I would aggressively pursue him.
