I dunno. I'd be fine with 20 million guaranteed for 6 years, and I could live with it for 5 years. He'd be our starter and I think he'd be worth it.

You bring up an interesting point... how it is structured, and even if it looks steep now, it may be a bargain in 3 years. Resigning Pace would most likely mean about 80 million in signing bonuses this offseason..... Ouch. Fitz will get about 30, 20 for Pace, at least 20 more for Dansby and 10 for midtier guys. Then within a year or two you'll have Wilson, Dockett and Boldin.

When does Wilson's contract expire? This will be Adubs' 8th season. If it's 2-3 more years I don't see a 10-11 year veteran Safety getting a huge contract.

Although with the way things are going in free agency it could happen.

If I am not mistaken both Wilson and Dockett have made comments in the media about restructuring to "market value"

Wilson is also 30 next year.....certainly not a candidate for a huge deal when he'll be on the backend of his career

wow.. 20 million guaranteed...

I know he had a pretty good year and all... but he got as much as Adalias Thomas Got last year...

Graves sucks... But his one is not on him.... I don't think he is worth 20 million.. at all.....

Yep, overpaid. Can you say 'contract year?' That's the only reason why he played better this year.

Why is it that we can hate on the Cards ex-coaches and believe that they were not good at developing talent or putting people in positions to succeed, but when a coach comes in and actually does it, we just ignore it.

Pace should have had this type of impact back 2 years ago but b/c he got limited playing time, played out of position, and wasn't coached up, he looked like a bust.

Pace is in the right spot now. He has the perfect physique and mindset to play the OLB position in the 3-4 and he will flourish in Miami, NY or wherever.

Had he had this type of year as a 4-3 DE I might believe you (since he didnt play well int hat position in the past) but I think he is legit and $20million on a 5-6 year contract is peanuts.

From Urban's blog:
Nothing final on Pace yet

I got a text from Calvin Pace this morning saying he has not agreed to any contract yet. So that would mean the SI.com report that he is a Dolphin is premature. It doesn't mean he won't end up in Miami, but again, nothing is final. Just thought I would throw that update out there, after all the confusion of Friday night. Pace is supposed to visit the Jets today.

I think it's significant that Pace wanted to let the Cardinals organization and it's fans know for certainty that he had not signed anywhere.

I believe that Pace really want's to stay with the Cardinals, and he will give them a chance to counter whatever offers he gets elsewhere. While this may not be enough to insure the retention of Pace's services, it speaks loudly about the difference between the organization a decade ago and today's Cardinals.

Do all of us a favor.

Go start a - GRAVES IS GREAT! - thread and go post your rubbish over there.
Of course not.

It's his 20+ posts in the last couple of days singing our beloved GMs praises that prompts my post. :)

That is not true. Nuff said. You're just attacking me cause I have a different view.

I guess that prompts me to write you are being re-actional, unlogical and emotional.

And for the record there is no need to insult me with labeling me as a Graves supporter. Which I am not, and never have been. I hated he was given an extention, and long for a day where him and the Bidwills are long gone.

But because I think Fitzgerald is getting disrespected, Pace is not as good as the contract offered from Mia, that Faneca is not worth 50 mil. Doesn't put me in his corner. Those are just my opinions. That is a heck of an assumption with out proof to throw out there.

I know you would love to come here and have every person say the same thing and everyone agree to everything you believe. But it ain't gonna happen, and I am not going anywhere. And I don't expect anyone to not post there thoughts here, even your emotional rubbish is welcome.

But since this is an emotional time for you I'll let it slide this time.
