Damn, wouldn't you guys rather have a QB who can win your division for you and give you hope at least that you can compete for a championship, than what we have had all our team's life. Even if he never won a playoff game, I will take winning 10 or 11 games and going to the playoffs every year than not.

I think his finger is also hurting him more than is being let on.

The hyper extended index finger on his throwing hand was a huge problem, he clearly struggled throwing ever since the injury. Aikman was talking about it tonight and how Carson had to totally change the way he was throwing because of it. Tonight, it killed us

What hope? What is the point of going to the playoffs if it's a foregone conclusion you can't get anywhere with a mental midget behind center? So...what? Having a "fun" team is acceptable now? That's Suns talk right there.

Unless his brain is located in his finger, I'm not buying it.

The decisions he made the last 3 to 4 weeks are inexcusable.

Kind of a loser mentality. If its not a SB then it really is nothing. They dont play the game to win division titles.

+1. Bad finger or not....he made several bad decisions. His interception count would have been much higher had some of the defenses we played held on to some balls.

Exactly. This is not like a Brady or someone of his caliber who happened to have one of the worst playoff performances in NFL history. It was PALMER. Someone who has yet to prove himself in the post season and someone who has been labeled a choker before. It was Palmer who just had one of the worst performances by a QB in post season history.

Time to start exploring other options no matter how remote since we know we are not going anywhere with him.

BA will have to find a young QB either this draft or next. Just has to. Palmer is here in 2016 no matter what. Dead money is huge at 13 million.

It's Palmers 4th career playoff game 3 he actually played the whole game. Let not act like he is a seasoned post season QB. Manning had an awful awful playoff record for years, you have to learn to win in the playoffs! And let's face it we came out flat and ran into a buzz saw that was wanting to prove something. We made crucial errors and had no pass rush which resulted in some huge TD plays. Palmer had a terrible game but partly from trying to force things after being down 3 scores in a heartbeat! Its not like we can just pick up an Andrew Luck or something, so Palmer will be here next year. Shore up the damn lines on both sides of the ball, zero pass rush and bad pass protection equals these kinds of games when your openant dominates both lines!

He looked absolutely overwhelmed out there. This was his big shot, and he choked as bad as I've ever seen a QB choke. If he can't handle the pressure at this stage of his career, I doubt he will ever be able to.

Carson gave us an amazing regular season, but in no way do I see him as a guy who can take us to the next level. Unfortunately, I also don't see him going anywhere for the next couple of years. This team has a lot of holes to fill this summer, and I sincerely hope QBOTF is one of them. Getting a halfway decent pass rusher would also be helpful.

It was so sad to see him struggle so bad in this game. If not for the DB's dropping some balls it could have been worse.

How can he choke so bad in big games like this? This can't be all on his finger, he was making poor reads all game and got frustrated.

Are you seriously comparing Manning to Palmer?

Palmer = tight butt. So tight in fact he will poop standing backwards because it will come out like pee. Dude got worse and worse. How he made some of those throws makes me worry because say we get back to the title game. You dont think this will be in his head?!? He made awful throws

What's sad about this is all the GB fans kept posting "Carson should have gotten 5 picks" after that game and following it up with "Just think how many he'll have against Carolina?"... it was unfortunately prophetic.

Palmer is his own worst enemy. You can't blame the o-line on bad decisions. You throw the ball away, you take a sack... you don't force balls where there is no play. He was doing it with and without time. He tries too hard and isn't clutch. Too much nervous energy. I said I thought it would be one of the big keys of the game if he came out calm and first play he sailed the ball high like he always does when he gets amped followed by more inaccurate passes and bad decisions.

He's still better than anyone we could possibly replace him with. Sure, I wouldn't mind seeing RG3 on the bench having a chance to win the position or any other prospect for that matter. I actually welcome it because we need to do something whether Carson plays lights out or not because he has a shelf life.

But Carson could win a championship if he could play consistent and get his mind right. On the flip side he is who we thought he was... before the renaissance.

Agree. He actually pulled a lat muscle overcompensating in practice.

I wouldn't be surprised if he has to have a minor procedure on it during the offseason.

Maybe not the cause of all of his mistakes, but it's no coincidence that his completion % dipped 4 points post injury and that he attempted fewer deep balls.

Yep. It looked so swollen & purple when they showed it as he was sitting on the sidelines. Anyone thinking it wasn't a factor is on crack.

A potential MVP who carried his team all season doesn't just go brain dead for no reason. I'd go to war with Carson Palmer any day!!!

Oh well onto the 2016 season.

Last time I checked the finger bone isn't connected to the brain stem. If you want to argue it impacted his throwing fine. You can't write off all the bad decisions this guy has made on a finger. What about all of the bad decisions that should have been picks? The missed open receivers?

Complete bundle of nerves. He overthrew everyone. Receivers had butter fingers as well. Panthers were making great catches.

Palmer had a horrible game but so did most of the Cards other than David Johnson. Palmer is the main reason we made it to the Championship game as he had a terrific season.

Sure they do... Especially at the QB position. See Peyton Manning's playoff record/numbers versus regular season. Some guys can play in the playoffs, some can't. Right now, Palmer has shown that he's a guy who can't in 3 full playoff games where he's been uniformly awful.

Say what you want about the finger, but his decision making was ATROCIOUS in the playoffs and that's a head problem.

This. Please steal a gem in the draft SK, or we're boned.

Let me come dislocate your finger with a hammer & see how well you throw a football for a month. :D;)

I kind of agree with this post.

There's no doubt he looked pretty tight, and that this moment was probably too big for him.

Add that to a messed up index finger, and you get the disaster that we saw tonight.

However, I think if you improved the oline (improving both the pass protection and the running game), I think in 2016 the cards could win a superbowl with Palmer.

He seems like the type of person that can grow into being better in these types of moments, (although his available window is pretty short, like maybe one or two years at the most).
