Who are you referring to?

McNabb. We played the Eagles a couple years back where he had a broken ankle, and didn't as much as touch him the entire game even though he couldn't move.

Farve looked just like he did last time we played GB in GB...just picked our D apart, with no pressure on him at all. Our D needs to either get pressure, or cover someone. With no pressure and our porous secondary, it's a formula for losing. Sad to say, but Bert Berry as flawed as he is, is still our best pass rusher.

Agree on all points. I also wanna hear from all the people that said that Pace was a bum too and he would get embarrassed against us. He looked pretty good to me.

to be fair though, Pace looked good going against a bum. What players do against the Cardinals shouldn't necessarily be held up of proof of anything. We all know that we're the other team in every player's highlight reel.

That being said, it is incredibly frustrating that a guy who looked like a horrible pick at the time and was for years finally turned into a good player and we let him get out here. I don't think Pace was worth the money he got, but it's too bad our FO couldn't get a deal done to keep him from hitting that open market, or that they FO/Coaching staff couldn't figure the best way to use him until his last year of his contract.

My sentiments exactly.

As joeshmo pointed out, that was before Clancy. He pointed out that Clancy didn't go after him and then realized that it wasn't Clancy.

Speaking of being fair, Pace has looked good all season.

i know he has. I was just saying that using a Cardinals game of proof of anything is like fool's gold.

Hood was the only one who did his job in the backfield...what happened to the great D we were promised... the talent is there (or so it seems), but the puzzle piecnes are in chaos... time to drag Rivera in from the cold and make SOMETHING happen... the tackling was a joke, and that is a matter of emphasis and discipline... WHO has THAT responsibility? Besides the PLAYERS of course....

Why does this board turn on each other so easily? Win or lose, we can't be happy. Is this a Cardinal disease? I am a fan of the baseball Cardinals and Spurs and have never experienced such canabalism among the fans.

In this instance, it's because Pendergast stinks and has stunk for a long time, and most people realize that. The problem is, a few people always seem to defend ineptness. I just hope they can stop now; it's crystal clear that he is NOT a good DC.

I, for one, will accept this as the final word on the subject, if you can restrain yourself for a few days on this issue.

We don't win the game without their terrific play in the first 57 minutes but the head-scratching abhorrent moments in the last two nearly cost us. Pendergast's defense is much like our offense, pretty much boom or bust at all times. Very bizarre, sometimes the defense comes out for a possession and look like the 2003 Cardinals while at other times they look like a championship-caliber defense. But I guess that's to be expected with a defense built around big plays and creating turnovers.

I'll give him credit for the game and not complain much about his defensive calls. I have to say, though, that individual efforts counted for more in this win. That said, individual slacking can also account for more of our failures at other junctures too.

I would like to go back in time and stop the guy who invented the prevent defense.

"I'm from the future and if you create this defense, this will happen (show him the 70 yard Marion Barber run) thousands of times over causing much misery and shame!"

The scheme's gotten 3 picks so far. It's the jumping that's hosing the two pick 6's.
Play smarter.

I still disagree. Man, with the pressure the defense put on the 9ers passing game it's amazing we didn't have more (any?) sacks. They were in the 9ers backfield all night long.

Not to mention Spock's point about penaties.

I agree about the sacks, however, was I the only one that was pissed off about the laid back (prevent?) defense late in the 4th quarter?

So true.
