Russell doesn't even compare to Leinart as a prospect. Leinart won two national Championships and almost won a third. He shined against top competition when the spotlight was on him. Russell never won anything. He looked good in one bowl game against a classically overmatched opponent.

Leinart was hardly ever pressured or touched. Neither was Russell. I agree that Russell is not as good a prospect as Leinart.

If it seems reliable (like quotes from scouts) and pertains to the discussion at hand then I'm going to post it.

Because quotes from scouts are so trustworthy in April. Every team in the NFL wants the Raiders to choose Russell except maybe the Cleveland Browns. Really solid job evaluating sources there, champ.

So no scouts and no sports writers. Then were do you get any info on football?

Just admit that if the writer doesn't agree with you then you call them a hack. And if they do agree with you then they have these so called "magic" articles you're so fond of.

As a Lions fan, I would rather have McCown QB'ing instead of Kitna. I think McCown with Martz's teaching could be a top-flight QB. I was disappointed when he wasn't named the starter last season. However, personally I am biased. McCown is a quality person, he spoke at my church, and is truely the best of what sports has to offer as a role model for young people. How can you not want a kid like that to succeed. I can only hope for the best for McCown and hope he finds a home in the NFL and kicks some A$$. He deserves it....just my .02 cents.

He should at least be the #3 wr this year :D . Actually, everyone pretty much agrees that McCown is a great guy and a quality person but he's just not a very good QB.

Detroit Free Press: "John Clayton of ESPN.com reports that the Lions are in trade negotiations with the Raiders regarding backup quarterback Josh McCown... Tom Pelissero of the Green Bay Press-Gazette reported that free-agent defensive tackle Kenderick Allen is in talks with the Lions."

[QUOTE

McCown has a big arm and is more mobile than Andrew Walter, but isn't regarded as a smart QB that's normally preferred in the West Coast attack coordinator Greg Knapp brought from Atlanta.

and Mike Vick is??????????????[/quote]

You hit the nail on the head regarding Josh. The big arm is not the answer if you are running a WC offense. A lot between in the ears is preferable.
