Speaking of signings--- isn't it funny we haven't heard much about most of the Cardinal free agents? The only one making any noise has been Breaston.

most of our FA aren't marquee names... the only ones that are are Breaston (who's gone) and Deuce (who I fear will soon follow)... much like every other key Cardinal who actually makes it to Free Agency.

Breaston is a marquee name? Hooey and applesauce.

for us he was... he was a core member of a super bowl/playoff team and a valuable asset no matter how people want to protray him as horse-**** now that he's not a Cardinal.

Deuce is a local so I'm hoping that will help persuade him to stay here.

So Breaston was marquee, and Edge wasn't. Got it.

Nope me either, Deuce looked terrible coming into camp last year.

Who cares how he looked when he showed up at camp? He was our best offensive lineman the moment he showed up, and through the entire season.

not to mention the extra fifty pounds or so helps when one is attempting to drive a huge DT off the line of scrimmage on running plays.

Exactly, the weight thing is blown way out out proportion.

I doubt he stays a Cardinal.

Being the Cards best o-lineman is roughly equivalent to being the best hockey player in Ecuador.

:lmao:

Amen. Should have just kept Lutui, Sendlein and Keith as starters, and found new starters at LT and LG. At least maintain some sense of continuity. It may still happen, but I doubt it.

And wasn't he at his assigned weight by the start of the season anyway?

When I look in the paper each day I see many many signings and trades being announced by many many NFL teams. I see basically nothing from the Cards. Maybe we are smarter than all these other teams by having all these secret deals in our back pocket. And yes the world is flat regardles of what you may hear.

Well thats your problem brother. Do they still print newspapers? :D

I need to get off this board and get back to work!!!

CUT TO:

INT- CHEESEBEEF'S OFFICE

CHEESEBEEF sits in desk chair, slaps his cheecks, cracks his knuckles, takes deep breath, and starts typing.

CHEESEBEEF
Act three, scene one: interior

Looks over at IPhone, then at watch, to keyboard, and back to IPhone.

CHEESEBEEF
*********...
He grabs IPhone like a homeless person grabs a chicken wing.

"iphone" and "cheesebeef" in the same post cracks me up. he's got a circa 1999 flip phone, and the only reason he has that is that he found it in a closet that we were cleaning out at my grandmother's while we were packing up her things to ship to chicago. before that he had a circa 1995 phone that was literally held together by rubberbands. i am not making this up.

Well AZ Republic said Breaston's deal was 5 years for 9.5 million.

Seriously? IF true....with all this cap space, we give up on this guy who leaves for less than 2 mill a year? Even if his knee is wadsworth bad, 2 million?

I would say ********, but I don't want to make a ****** look so impossibly stupid.

I saw $9.5 million guaranteed. Who knows what the salary was.

Reported by Sports Illustrated Steve Breaston has signed a 5 year contract with 9.5 million dollars guaranteed.

I'm sure he didn't break the bank but he is easily replaced IMO. I expect us to upgrade in fact.
