Mitch is right. Soft as a grapefruit.

He's a cover corner and a great one at that. Who cares if he's a puss. We don't pay him to hit hard after the catch. We pay him for a no catch while covering the number one on the other team every game. He does his job very well.

yep..its great to have a corner that leads the league in picks all the time

hard to get INT's when nobody throws at you. I don't know the stats for this year but last year he was thrown at on a % basis less than any CB in the NFL.

Last time I saw the stats this year he was leading the league in coverage in terms of completions against and yardage.

I'll take a great player over being "tough" every day

That's his job.

Actually my argument has complete merit because it happened. Players get named to the Pro Bowl and as alternate because of their name all the time.

Name doesn't get you seven-for-seven. Production gets you seven-for-seven.

Luck gets you one, maybe two.

This is why your argument carries no value.

Peterson isnt even close to the best corner in the nfl much less the nfc. I’ll take Xavier Rhodes over Peterson any day. If you play defense you have to have a toughness about you, be a fierce competitor and capable tackler first in the nfl. It doesn’t matter position. Peterson is a very good cover 1-on-1 corner and that’s it. He is average or below in tackling, thoughness, zone coverage and would argue even competitiveness as I’ve seen him give up on plays several times recently. Teams will and have exploited that. He also throws tantrums and whines a lot which isn’t very attractive nor qualifies you to be a team captain. I agree with the comment he needs a kick in the ass by a coach like fitz got way back when. There is a reason why this team had to play a ton of zone this year and the zone schemes sucked because they were primarily a man team. Teams adjusted like I said. Can’t be a one trick pony in this league anymore. Just my two cents.

Pat P is not a HOF corner IMO.

He has very good traits but needs to grow a set of balls. Softballing tackles and running straight out of bounds on punts drives me crazy.

But besides that, I’ve never said Peterson isn’t a great cover corner. He is. But there’s areas of his game to improve upon, just the same that Larry had to improve on his game. I hope he gets there because he’s got the tools to be a legend... but he’s not and Id like to see him be one, same as Larry.
right... at times there are comparisons to Sanders... and while I will knock Sanders all day long on how he tackled...you cant knock how he contributed in ways other than covering his guy... he got INT's... he returned punts,...returned kicks...played a some plays on offense.... and he did them all well... nobody in the NFL wanted to punt or kick the ball to Dieone Sanders....if PP21 wants to tackle like Sanders and be compared to Sanders he needs to step it up and contribute like Sanders... because above all else Sanders did everything he could to help his team win.

Then who’s a HoF corner playing right now?

He’s not Neon, but name a corner today that has the same skill set and has contributed in ways that Sanders did. Peterson is the only one.

Plus, it’s hard to get INTs when no one throws your way. Fewest completions allowed for any CB with 600+ snaps

To early to tell and the answer could be no one and that’s ok imho. But if there was one trending in that direction my vote would be Xavier Rhodes of the Vikings. He does it all, is athletic and smart. Full football player.

Some people don't really know football. They have no idea what they have in Patrick Peterson. He's a hall of famer

The Peterson hate is stupid. IMHO. Can't believe anyone ******* about a guy who any of the other 31 teams would gladly snap up as an immediate starter.

But, because he doesn't knock out people like Chuck Cecil, he sucks. What a steaming pile of doodoo. Whose evaluation is more important? Actual NFL coaches or a high school English teacher in Massachusetts who has never even seen the guy play live?

Too early to put Peterson and Sherman in?

What’s stupid is people equating legit criticism with outright hatred.

I know it’s easier to argue when you paint with broad brushes, but it’s specious to change people’s arguments.

No one “hates” Peterson. No one has called him doodoo, but if it makes you feel warm and fuzzy inside to hyperbolize and argue like Donald Trump, more power to ya.

Man you bounce around back and fourth more than that little karaoke ball. :biglaugh:

In my defense, I hadn’t seen Carroll’s face when I thought about the draft pick.

Also believe Arians is done and I’m pretty happy with him going out a winner. I’m ready to move on, but much more in the thanks for the
Memories kinda way over Don’t let the door hit ya on the way out.
