Peterson - a big puss

What’s stupid is people equating legit criticism with outright hatred.

I know it’s easier to argue when you paint with broad brushes, but it’s specious to change people’s arguments.

No one “hates” Peterson. No one has called him doodoo, but if it makes you feel warm and fuzzy inside to hyperbolize and argue like Donald Trump, more power to ya.

I’m cool with criticism, but When people go way out of their way to make ridiculous assertions, it sounds like hatred. Saying Traymon Williams is better than Peterson is example of this.

He’s not Neon, but name a corner today that has the same skill set and has contributed in ways that Sanders did. Peterson is the only one.

Plus, it’s hard to get INTs when no one throws your way. Fewest completions allowed for any CB with 600+ snaps

out of curiosity I checked stats on Sanders, Woodson, and Champ Bailey...

its pretty funny, sanders had like 493 tackles over his career... charles woodson had just over 1000...

but Dieon did pull in 53 picks even though noboy wanted to throw his way,.. he did at times bait the QB though,,charles woodson had 65 picks Bailey had 52...each of these guys are HoF type corners and had long careers....PP21 has 21 picks over 7 seasons...double the years to compare up with Bailey and call it 42 projected

PP21 has 302 tackles right now projected over 14 yrs..604.... Bailey had 812 in 14 years...woodson around 900...

other than Sanders neither of these guys were huge contributors on special teams...a bit more than PP21 but not huge...in Bailey'scase it was two years early in his career,..woodson always did a couple but only significant for a couple years at green bay...

what the stats show is PP21 is roughly on par with these guys on tackles...he projects out to having a few hundred more than Dieon, but a few hundred less than Bailey or woodson.

the biggest difference is picks.... PP21 will fall about 10 shy of guys like Sanders and Bailey over a 14 year career...10 over 14 years is not huge

to compare it to a Cardinal...

A. Williams 672 Tckls 55 INT's over 14 yrs


P. Peterson 604 TCKLS 42 INT's over 14 years


every guy here is a HoF corner,... and based on current performance, projected out over a 14 year career... PP21 is comparable..... fewer tackles than all but Sanders and fewer picks than all of them... but its a projection...each of these other guys had outlier seasons where they grabbed 8 or 9 picks...a couple of those and PP21 is right there in picks as well.


so,...yeah.... whereas I agree that the dude often makes bitch plays...so did sanders... and other than Sanders none of these HoF level corners made significant contributions on ST's

Fair enough. I guess for me it's that I'm amazed how often this comes up, like basically every game.

To me it's like how people complained about CC every year and how he wasn't as dominant as he should be, then he leaves and people suddenly realize how good he actually was, he gets into a different system and surprise, 14.5 sacks after years of complaints he didn't get enough sacks because the system led to him being constantly double teamed.

I agree, I don't post much on cards board, but seeing the guy who if not on the team would single handedly sink the entire defense called a puss.... One of dumbest posts I've seen.

Maybe, but by reading the other posts you can see we are not all hating, just giving our opinions and expectations. Thread titles are like newspaper headlines, just there to get your attention and then the facts come later.
