If there is a team we don't need to worry about it's Houston. Even in this meaningless game for us, and must-win for them, while they are outrebounding us by 20, shooting 50% from 3, it's still a 1 possession game now with under a minute left.

^Agreed.

D'Antoni had some major balls if that play was designed to go to Amare, he nearly made it to! I'm kinda glad he missed it, I don't want them going to OT and getting even more tired/risking injury.

I really hope the Suns can build an early huge lead tomorrow and then give the key guys some rest, though the Clippers should be playing their asses off, so I doubt it.

okay, just saw the end of the game - now I didn't want OT, but jeez, people wonder why I bag on Marion - uh, why not throw the ball back out for a three... on second thought, maybe he didn't want OT either.

rest everyone tomorrow - no need to play them on a back to back - seeding is secure - avoid injuries and give guys like Bell, Amare and Nash the rest they deserve.

People will call me a Marion hater again, but I doubt he was even thinking.

His "All-NBA Defense" also let McGrady go nuts.

Although we didn't play any defense and didn't rebound at all anyway.

Pulling JR, KT, and Diaw around the 6 minute mark was crummy. They were doing an excellent job.

My theory to playing the starters is probably that Utah would have been extremly mad if we just gave the Rockets a crucial win after beating the Jazz by like 30 2 days ago.

If we had something to play for , we probably wouldn't let McGrady go nuts and actually fight for some boards.

Exactly. The game did not mean anything, but that was a really stupid play. 2 doesn't do any good. Its either 3 or lose.

Well.....at least no one got hurt. I think the fact that playoff positioning is on the line is the reason why you see these guys playing. Dallas will deal with the choice tomorrow. If they mail it in against GS that will pretty much seal the fate of the clippers(forget the fact that the clippers wasted their year away on their own).....not to mention it could show that dallas is taking the easy way out. That's why a coach has to consider playing his top guys......of corse if someone gets hurt he's an idiot. I will have no problem with avery clearing the bench tomorrow for that very reason. He originally said that he would use GS as his playoff prep game, but he also changed his mind about the spurs game being a rest game for non dampier players. The only benefit would be to beat the warriors and maybe ruin their season, but is that worth risking an injury to dirk, terry, stack, howard, diop, ect.?

I would think that Dallas would turn it on and try to send GSW home if for no other reason than to stick it to Don Nelson.

that would be nice.....but is it worth it in the second to last game of the season with the number one seed clinched? Not to mention golden state will likely clinch anyway right? It's a tough call to make. I have no problem with avery sitting dirk, terry, howard, and stackhouse. Dampier needs to play though. but avery has said this would be his playoff prep game....we'll see.

1) I wouldnt call you a Marion hater but you "hate on Marion" for what he isn't instead of liking him for what he is.

2) McGrady is an elite play who when he gets hot not many players (if any) can stop him. That would be like hating Marion for not stopping Kobe....who can?? Marion plays good defense regardless.....

I don't think anyone hates on Marion for what he isn't. My issues are with what he thinks he is, and how he tends to make those feelings known.

Well Slin has stated prior that he doesnt consider Marion elite because of a lack of ball handling skills or the ability to create his own shot....now he's throwing Marions defense into question. While some of that is true Marion does a lot of things that other players dont do (especially for his size) so I'm not that harsh on the Matrix.

The Valley so low.
Marion is very valuable for what he does, including helping the Suns play the speed game and contributing 20/10 when they do. He and Amare both are not among leaders in what let's call 'mature, reflective judgment'. For that we've got Nash, KT, and Bell when he's not pissed off. Good coaching is partly handling the distribution of your players' talents--no one is good at everything.

On the other hand, they say Kobe is overcoming his general dumb-shitness, so maybe age will ripen Amare, too--I think Marion will be out of the league before that happens for him. [No, I don't intend to be bagging on Marion--his collection of talents is broad, deep, and almost unique. There aren't many players I'd trade him for, and probably no trades that would work--but I don't care how much money the team makes.]
