The guy shows good speed on gameday and despite being big and powerful has some pretty nice lateral quickness and agility. Add the ability to catch passes and pass block and I like the pick.

I remember everybody blasting Maurice Clarett for his slow 4.72 40 time. Taylor can't hold a candle to Clarett in running ability and is slower. Yet he's being called a great pick.

Williams will get hurt......Mendenhall will get hurt.....I guess this guy can't beat out Powell and Smith....what a joke.....you need more than one running back.

All of these guys calling him slow apparently wouldnt have drafted Emmitt Smith who also ran a 4.7

Lane Johnson is faster. lol

BA has said that RB's are there to run the rock (while protecting the football) and protect the passer. He can do both well.

My biggest issue is the mileage on his tires. Dude was ran into the ground in college. He had almost 800 carries in 4 years. 322 last year.

Best all around running back....receiving......blocking....etc.

Thank good ness you're no Keim.....we'd have Simon in the first round.
Actually I had Simon in the 4th round, which is where he went, to the best drafting team in the league.

He can catch the ball and block. Call me crazy but I want a RB that can actually run.

If you havent seen him play much at Stanford, then you are missing out. Rock solid all-around RB. I dont think he is going to be anything fantastic, but he is a back we can rely on to pick up tough yardage and pass protect.

No I wouldn't of. If Taylor becomes the all-time leading rusher, I'll admit I was wrong. The thing is Taylor will be more like Emmit version that played in Arizona.

I guarantee that Taylor will have a better NFL career than Clarett!

If he is as slow as some of you have stated, why are the other teams he played against are even slower? He doesn't seem to have any problems staying ahead of the pursuers. Let's just say that he is fast enough for our needs.

Wouldn't have drafted Jerry Rice either ;)

Some guys play faster than their 40 and based off his highlights and stats he clearly does.

He ran 4.6 at his Pro Day.
I'll go by his time on the same track everybody ran on for their time. I remember when, I think it was Syracuse, ran 38 yard dashes for their 40 time. Stanford may have a very fast track. I know OSU does.

Would still be a more successful NFL career than Maurice Clarett's.

that won't take much and who cares. It wasn't on the field where Clarett had issues. I bet he has a better career than Lawrence Phillips did too. How is that significant?
