Hey at #4 we'd get our choice of Porter, Jackson, Young, and Bamba.

That's not too shabby.
I'll be pretty annoyed if we land at 4th. Would really like top 2 for obvious reasons, but at 3 or 4 I would be more than okay with one of JJJ, Bagley or Doncic.

AFAIC if Porter is actually considered among our possible targets, it's about as shabby as it can get. We have to manage our risks better than we have in the recent past and drafting a HUGE injury risk is bad management IMO.

I really really want top three too but if the ultimate screw job happens it's not the end of the world. That second tier of players is good with some potential upsides. I mean if Porter's back isn't an issue he probably would be better than Bagley. JJJ could also be better than Bagley. Young could be a fun ride playing with Booker. Bamba 'could' be the next Mutombo...

We all know what happened in the past has no bearing on the final slots this year. But I am sure that every Suns fan with any knowledge of our past is absolutely certain that we will somehow get screwed over once again. I will take it as moral victory if the Spurs don't get knocked out of playoffs because if they did the lottery Gods wouldn't be able to
resist the biggest screwover of all time by giving the first three picks to the Lakers, Spurs and Knicks. We're sort of resigned to picking fourth but those three teams leapfrogging us would be gratuitous nastiness.

Thank god the Lakers don't own their pick this year so that can't happen.

I thought you meant screw up a top pick in the draft. My bad. Yes, the Suns and Cards are exceptional at not getting the top pick.

oh yeah... I just mean the complete bottoming out process and not shooting yourself in the foot at the end of the season!

I would love to see us lose today and then play everyone in their last game just so they all got one game to enjoy going into next season.

Sounds joyus and all but that would be 'something' if the whole team just got suddenly better.

I'm going to need to be on xanax during the lottery because I might break my TV if we end up 4th... which is exactly what I'm expecting.

Judging by last year, any coin flips among Milwaukee/Miami/Washington would happen soon, much closer to the end of the regular season than to the lottery or the draft itself.

So it's all about the Bucks and Heat pick for the moment.

I'm hoping for the #1 pick because the ultimately point of tanking is to control your own draft destiny. But to state the obvious, what I'm really hoping for is getting the best player in the draft regardless of where we pick.

Yup. The Suns will have the worst record and best odds at #1, but they will still end up with the #4 or #5 pick while the Lakers and Celtics, amazingly and mysteriously, end up picking ahead of the Suns.

The good news is the Suns can't fall below 4.

As Suns fans we believe in our hearts that there is some obscure unknown rule that will put the Suns fifth. It’s just the way it’s always been.

If Milwaukee ends up tied, it’s funny but we are rooting for them to win the coin flip. Winning is losing for the Bucks in this instance. They still owe us for 1969.
