I don't care how badly Marion did offensively, the entire team has not shown up defensively PERIOD

it's funny how often this sentence is said. News flash Ash - THIS TEAM PLAYS HORRIBLE DEFENSE - they need EVERYONE to be on offensively to win - shockingly enough (yeah right), once again, we're looking at the leader of double doubles in the regular season come nowhere close to his averages.

Oh - and it's nice to see the Matrix can't guard Brand OR Mobley down low - nice work Duncan, er, Marion.

Cheese, weren't you just talking earlier about people overreacting in wins and losses?

It seems like your putting this whole game on Marion.

98 pts in 3 qtrs is not bad, its horrific. Marion has played like crap but so has everyone else.

They got worked on the boards, many players including Bell can't hit the broadside of the barn, too many mistakes, and generally there has been a lack of hustle. If we are expecting to outscore teams by having to have 100 pts through 3 qtrs, this series is done and we lost.

I know our style is to outscore people but you have to defend and occassionally get a board every now and again.

no - the entire team has sucked defensively tonight - but from Marion, this is just more the same of what we've ALWAYS seen from him save one series against the tissue-soft paper Mavs last year.

This game isn't on Marion solely, but the guy freaking sucks in the playoffs, period. Always has, always will.

why the hell is Nash back in the game? Is his back THAT tempermental that he even needs to go back into to blowouts?

They'll make one last push and if we can't get it within 10 in the next 2:30 then he'll come out. Maybe they'll find something that works well against the Clippers in the next 6 minutes that they can use in the next game.

A lot of our shots are coming up short tonight, I guess the 45 minute practice didn't help us.

Its one game, we'll make adjustments and we can still win the series. It's far from done.

I know that ... it was in response to cheesebeef's post about how this is all on Marion. We played horrid defense and got worked on the boards. This loss can't go to one guy, this was a total team debacle.

We can't expect to let teams score 98 pts through 3 qtrs with regularity and just outscore. That's why I was saying if we expect to do that, the series is over and we lost.

However I'm guessing our coaches are smarter than to blame the whole thing on one guy and actually have a defensive strategy next game

Marion set the tone for this game. Period, full stop.

Agreed.

Hey, it's going to be a tough series. This isn't the Mighty LA Lakers we're talking about.

If Cutino, Alien Boy, and the White Sasquatch play well... it's going to be a SOB.

Shake it off. Get some rest. And, come out Friday playing Suns ball.

uh - YOU'RE saying I'm saying that, but it's far from the truth. I've said repeatedly the entire team pretty much stunk tonight, but will agree that I'm lamenting another PISS POOR game from Mr. Duncan, er, Marion - one of which NONE of us should be surprised that we're seeing.

And Ash - if you don't think Soft set the tone with his complete fetal position play in the first quarter, you're dreaming - the entire team sucked tonight, but missing countless layups and being flat on D from an "MVP" candidate according to Marion killed us.

But hey, if you want to twist words to make some one the bad guyt, go ahead if that makes you feel better.

Hopefully Marion gives us a great game on Friday to shut us up, but I wouldn't hold my breath... after all, he'll be taking care of that all on his own again, I'm sure.:)

Eddie House is not very good.

I was for the re-signing of house before the playoffs started but honestly he can keep on walking as far as I'm concerned. He has done nothing

I just checked the score and stats on my cell phone and it's showing that Stat is in the game. Is this true?

When you have about 20 posts on one thread where you don't mention anyone but Marion, its kinda hard to interpret that you're saying that its a team loss.

I'm not disagreeing that he played like crap, our entire team played like crap. When you give up 98 points through 3 qtrs and can't get a board to save your life, the game doesn't come down to one guy.

The thing about Marion was that it looked like the Suns made a specific effort to get him going early. Most of their early plays were run for him, and he gacked them all except the dunk. He just isn't able to handle the pressure that comes with being a first option. The Suns need to run their usual, diversified offense from the opening tip, and let Marion fight for garbage points in his usual fashion.
