Leading from some discussions I've had in other threads: Do you think there is a chance Carson and Larry come back in 2018?

Let's just assume for the sake of argument that we end up being a playoff team, and neither player has a serious injury.

I personally see very little chance either guy returns. They both took a very long time to decide to come back. I don't think we can rely on a 39-year old QB or will want to pay them a significant amount at that point either...

I voted fitz only because to me he's got a lot left in the tank imo. The more I think about it though, I'm not sure. No way he plays with the rookie QB carousel again

This is why Gabbert is such a key part of the equation for Bruce. If he hits, and hits it off with Fitzgerald, then the "window" is open for a few more years. Having to start over with a rookie QB means half the team and most of the coaching staff is out the door.

Alright, I can get promoting your guy but this is to the point of can we just ban this guy's ass already. This is a Cardinal website and not a Gabbert fanboy page, and the fact that you have been corrected more than once and still call Fitzgerald Fitzpatrick makes you no more than a troll on this forum

they are both under contract. They are both still competitors. If there is reason to believe the team is going to be a serious contender they will both be back.

At this point I think he is trolling and I have warned him
Someone has to balance all the Gabbert negativism here. Everything I've said about Gabbert, your HEAD COACH has pretty much repeated. Is he "trolling" your precious little echo chamber too?

lol...it is nothing about an echo chamber. what it is about is the fact that most of the posters on this site have been Cardinals fans for 30-50 years...we have learned over the years to never get carried away with untampered optimism...and team history has shown that most QB free agents brought in during spring time are only here to keep the young WR's running routes and will not make the roster.
It aint about hating on Gabbert...he is a fine kid. Anyone here who has said anything bad about the guy wants nothing more than to be wrong, to eat that crow...to see the kid succeed and become a full on franchise QB with the redbirds and go to 10 straight pro bowls...we do...really..
but history has shown that is not usually the case...and decades of being a losing franchise that makes poor decisions has most of us hesitant to trust that things really have changed.

if you knew anything of BA...he says great poo about everybody this time of year...then as the season gets closer he will say great poo about the late round draft guys but talk smack about his top picks...blowing smoke up a QB's ass when he gets here is just so he comes in excited and ready to work

I hope the best for the guy, but he's awful. Are you a family member or friend?

Maybe yes, maybe no, but he is no Cardinals fan. I am starting to think he is just A BG fan. Like many of the Warner fans of old, they have left us for another fanboy page.

We had a guy, Mokler man, who came here with warner and I believe left when warner left. I dont see any reason to ban someone for following their favorite player online and discussing their abilities and the fans hopes for that player.

I mean, is him touting Gabbert and discussing his abilities really that big of a bother for everyone? We do have ignore buttons that people can use if they get tired of hearing about Gabbert?

I just find it funny that people throw the ban word around so much

I think Fitz will be back. Not so sure about Carson though.

I appreciate your discussion on Gabbert. You don't need to deliberately antagonize other posters by intentionally misspelling Cardinals players names.

If we have a nice bounce back year and make the playoffs I can see them both staying another year bc their competitive juices will be flowing again. I think this past season sapped some of that and hence the thoughts about retiring.

If only one returns I think it will surprise many and just be Carson. Fitz seems to have a lot of worldly interests and may want to retire while his body is not completely wracked and enjoy life. He just seems like that kinda dude. Palmer, on the other hand, seems like the type of guy who has only ever cared about football. When he retires he'll be destined to be homebound. And while I'm sure he loves his family, for a guy who's spent his whole life amped up football it's a tough transition to sedentary home life with fam in your 30's.

PS - banning Ethan Robert at this point would be silly. He's close to gabbert, but he's not really being an ass about it. At least no more so than anyone else on here with strong opinions about any player.

Also we've always openly welcomed posters who aren't fans of the cardinals, as they provide an alternative viewpoint. So that's a stupid consideration.

Finally, although the emotional attachment might be a much, when we've got posters with relationships with the players we often gain some further insight into the player or the goings-on of the team . . . why wouldn't we WANT more of that?!?

I am not interested in banning him unless the trolling continues. I kind of like the new system where I can warn a poster a couple of times before giving them a break.
