If Cam Ward falls in round 1...maybe that is different. If you want to try to develop Drew Allar as a round 3 pick...whatever. Hell, I don't care if you bring in Daniel Jones to compete with Murray. But every one of those scenarios also has Kyler on the roster in 2025.
You're telling us we have to have no hope, @Chopper0080. Kyler gives us no hope. Fans are not going to want to buy into another lost season with zero hope. I'm not going to agree with you that he should be here in 2025. I'm sure he will be but I don't want him to be.

If it were me I'd grab Allar...but I'd trade back into the 2nd...already see mocks with him going well before our round 3.
I think the kid has something.
But also, he is everything Kyler isnt..dude is a prototype. If having that guy as your backup doesn't light a fire under kylers ass nothing will.
Give Allar the Green Bay treatment and make him watch and learn...at least for 25...then reevaluate.
With petzings offense I would guess that 6'5. 240 is more his flavor QB
I don’t think I would spend more than a 3rd on him.

If hope is getting to the playoffs, Kyler offers that. If he is a 7-9 win QB, that is fine until something better comes along OR his contract needs to be addressed. Until that time, he can be our Dalton, Cousins, or Alex Smith.

I’ll double down on this. I need a roster that can be a Super Bowl contender, not just a playoff contender.
And drafting a QB high next year does not help this IMO. Draft multiple defensive front guys. Try to upgrade at OG. Try to add some speed at WR. After 2025, if things pan out and there is a QB you like, then trade up aggressively to get him.

I don't want another year where 7-9 wins is the ceiling and OMG maybe, if the planets align and everything is perfect, we sneak into the playoffs to get crushed in the wild card round. I want at least the chance at doing better, or starting to do better. Anything else is just another wasted year for me.

I didn't think you liked Allar all that much.
Not saying I like him, but I’m also trying to view him from the scouts’ perspective. Strong arm, mobile, etc. Look at his body frame, it’s similar to Josh Allen. GMs & scouts will thirst all over that.

we should do everything we can to showcase kylers strengths the rest of the year - don't try to win the game lol and screw running the ball - matter fact it would be better if we lose while kyler shines

That's a very cool analytical approach to the question. Good stuff.

I thirst over all that too, and as a Penn State guy would looove to have an alum lead the team to the promised land. I have my doubts about the kid but would definitely draft him non-first-round-ish.
