This is the first time Paul has played pick-and-roll with Ayton...

Transition defense is an issue.

A reference to Ayton not being in the best of shape.

Things are going to fast for Jalen Smith at the moment. He is thinking instead of reacting.

Monty explains how Utah big men dominated. This video tells a lot.

none at all. If it ain’t clicking by the break get rid of him maybe you can con a team

I'm hoping it's preseason blues but Gobert and Favors pushed the Suns around inside.

I'm glad i wasnt overreacting on Ayton, but its just disappointing to watch him have games like this. He just stood there as carter's guy came into the lane, i was like c'mon atleast go up and challenge that. The guys lungs and body are soft. Year 3, and we will probably throw a max extension at him tying us up for years. He'll be akin to Ben Simmons as someone who had talent but never met expectations with the gifts they were given.

Ben Simmons is a good player perhaps playing out of position. Nevertheless, a very good player.

This season Ayton needs to take the next step if the Suns are to make the playoffs. I'm not sure how he can be so out of shape not to give the Suns a few good minutes here and there.

As disappointing as Ayton was these first two games it’s still preseason and I’m not going to write him off at this juncture. But I honestly can’t recall a player that has ever frustrated me to this extent.

can you be a good player when your scared to death to even take a jump shot? He’s going to therapy for this that’s how bad it is. It’s not that he’s a bad shooter it’s the fact he flat out refuses to even take wide open shots. It’s so deep in his head

if he was a Sun he would be getting killed here.

I'm not sure where you are going with it. Ben Simmons is a 2 x NBA All-Star. Does he have some issues with his game, sure. He is still a very good player. A lot of teams want him.

If you are asking if I would take Simmons over Paul, the answer is yes.

Ayton doesn't have the mental makeup to be a great NBA player it's time to accept it and work around it - he should not be a centerpiece of our plans moving forward.

The conversation is Ayton and him having all the talent in the world but not having the mental make up to live up to it. In my opinion Ben Simmons is pretty much a different version of Ayton.

All the talent in the world yet something is missing.

Another way to look at the game. The Suns went 10-15 from the free throw line while the Jazz went 35-41.

The Jazz scored 25 more points than the Suns at the free throw line.

Agree, both players are lacking something in their game at the moment.

I'm hoping it's preseason blues but Gobert and Favors pushed the Suns around inside.

I’ve never heard of “preseason blues” especially for a young player, playing for a team that has accomplished NOTHING.

We are now just making up new excuses for Ayton.

No excuses for Ayton in year three.

The Suns were soft inside last night but it wasn't all Ayton. The Suns did have players out that would have helped such as Crowder, Johnson and Saric but Suns can afford to get into the excuse business.

On the flip side, this is a very good Jazz team with the return of Favors and a healthy Bojan Bogdanovic. If they have a weakness, I'm not seeing it. They phenomenal shooting along with size.

How many FTs did Ayton draw? Oh, zero. He’s zero for zero through two games. Definitely turning page . . . backwards.

Ayton attempts a fadeaway. Misses. Attack guy!
Deandre is a Small Forward in the body of a post player. How many years will take to realize that?

Perhaps that is why he puts up good rebound numbers . . . but is not a dominant rebounder.

He just doesn't make things happen. Which fits most of the history of the Suns.

A pretty team. Good enough to have a few things to brag about. But not a powerhouse.
