P. Peterson - Could be moved to LCB if AJ keeps up the great work, Also say him staying out of a lot of plays, I was kinda hoping he would want to get some hits in.

Maybe he read all the posts on message boards across the internet that the only thing anyone cared about was that there were no injuries.

Beanie is a joke.

To be that big and refuse to run between the tackle is embarrassing. I really liked this kid when the Cards grabbed him at the end of the first, but he is contact shy.

The only silver lining is that R.Williams is the real deal. Watched him at VaTech the last couple of years and he is a player. He will slowly see his carries increase until he becomes the starter if Beanie continues to show this lack of toughness....

There were no holes for him to run through. Particularly in the goal line stand.

I agree his toughness needs to improve though.

Our 1st string o-line played like garbage last night and R. Williams was running against defenders who will be driving Fed Ex trucks in 3 weeks.

I love R. Williams' body of work, but Wells is still the better, more experienced back at the moment.

Had the line had any containment on the goal line, Beanie would have been in the endzone on 3rd down. In addition, during the stiff arm play, he had to elude one other tackler right before pushing away the DB.

Trust me, if our line can't block anyone, it won't matter who's the primary back.

We will see. But I dont think Wells will ever be tough. He got away with running around guys in college but he always looks to bust it to the outside instead of lowering his pads and driving through a hole.

I want him to succeed, but I have a feeling Williams is in the lineup more and more as the season goes along.

After finally watching the game last night my takes:

Kolb looked decent with good moblity, but I cant help but to think he remides me of Jake Plummer.

Fitz is already in mid season form.

Beanie is solid, but needs to hit the hole harder and improve his vision, but I still love him.

Williams, looked like a quicker bulkier Hightower and loved the way he kept the play alive when slipped past the linebackers in the 3rd qtr.

Heep is gonna' be huge for this team.

Patrick Peterson is not ready for primetime just yet and that is to be expected, to me I did not see enough effort, he was a little late getting to some spots, and he should have been aware of the Roberts fumble late then game and was instead just standing there like a statue.

LB core: where were they?

Dan Williams: sucking air after one series.

DBs are stil giving way too much cushion...

LSH is exciting, but why does it seem the team holds everytime he touches the ball?

O-line looks like they just got together, so I will give them a slight pass but do they understand what a safety blitz looks like?

Skelton was running for his life the entire time he was in.

IMO Lutui and Bridges will be starting by week 1.

This is what I thought as well. Bridges looked a lot better than Keith. I would like to see him get some time at the top spot.

My brother was talking about his local radio in NC, that they had PP21 on before the draft and a lot of the locals wanted him instead of Cam Newton. PP21 basically said "that's great, but I think I'm going to be drafted by the Cardinals".

It was interesting that PP21 was wearing a near-Cardinal red tie during the draft...Me thinks he knew what team he was going to.

Furthermore, why would he sabotage his own career just because he doesn't want to be a Cardinal? Don't forget how bad DRC was his first season until he came on late. I expect that we'll see him turn it up closer to the end of the season as he gets more comfortable with our scheme.

We play a lot of zone and give big cushions; the problem with that is that if you don't get pressure, the receiver can generally make a catch on a decently thrown pass, no matter who is covering.

wow... this seems like revisionist history to me. DRC was pretty solid from the second he became a starter around mid-season and then played really good ball the rest of the year, dynamite for a rookie. "how bad DRC was his first season until he came on late..." Sometimes I really wonder if we've all been watching the same team.

this is the third time I've watched this game and every time I Williams steps out of bounds. how that was a TD I don't know. don't get me wrong, I'm glad it was.

Random Top of Mind Observations

The site keeps boloing in the middle of my post & I can't delete this. Sorry. (Note - Now that I have an I-Pad, there's nothing more gratifying than spending evenings multitasking in front of the teevee - including checking out ASFN and commenting when appropriate. Problem is that comments made on the I-Pad can be hard to edit, and the I-Pad fond of losing contact with my Wi Fi every once in a while. That plus no cardinal red). Now, I'm back and ready to post a few things that leaped out to me during the game:

- Kolb (whether Superman or merely competent) should add enough to our offense to make us a contender again.

- Surprise player of the game - AJ Jefferson (I especially liked the way he "got mad" after being toasted by D. Moore and, on the next play, broke aggressively on the ball to blow up a short pass in the flat).

- The O-line play eerily (though not surprisingly) resembled our weak O-line play since the days after Luis Sharpe. Other than Beanie's scoot around left end, I can't recall seeing a hole appear that a RB could run through.

- I thought our defense looked a bit soft vs. the run.

- Opposite Jefferson, I thought Marshall and Toler played a bit too far "off" in coverage.

- I love our three top TE's. They add something new to our offense.

- I think our amount of depth and talent at WR is underrated throughout the league and among the pundits.

- I'm squirmy about our lack of depth/talent at both OT's and NT.

- Bottom line: Take the QB issue out of the equation, and I still think this is a 5 - 10% better team than the one that ended last season. Add Kolb back into the equation, and I'd make us a favorite to win an improved NFC West division.

Didn't think Thomas Jones or David Boston would either but they did. I've read about more than one athlete that wanted to play his way out of town.

Its just a rumor I read somewhere and something I'll keep in mind. Looking not for rookie mistakes but hints of lack of effort or disinterest.

really? He wasnt more athletic and stronger then most of his college peers? ok, umm right.

He wasnt working with an oline that allowed backups a 6.4 yard average?

Look I hope something clicks, but he just seems shy to make contact and wants to bounce it outside. At his size he should be bulldozing guys.

If you cant see the difference in the way Beanie runs vs Williams im not sure what to say. Im not saying williams is better but he is tougher
