Kirk and Isabella returning punt and kicks is pure idiocy
Everyone mentally healthy after watching those two wouldnt have to see them again there
Atrocious
Isabella has issue catching the ball and field vision and Kirk is afraid to get hit
Terrible decision, there is nothing they can learn
One play scary and Isabella is with zero awareness and instict
Repeating the same thing expecting different results is the definition of insanity

Einstein apparently wasn't associated with the saying until the mid-1980s, some three decades after his death. “The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.”

anyone interested in providing numbers on ranking of return yards by team? my god guys just spinning in circles on returners with zero factual anything. I wont provide this data because I dont care.

With a 53 man roster you get 5,6, or 7 receivers. Tough to be an NFL receiver and focus on the quirks of the return game. Often times, those that are good (Devin Hester types) arent as good of receivers and thats true even with the goat returner Devein Hester.

Usually the return game is covered by your receiver with the best combo of quicks and hands. Kirk is doing a fine job on punt return and Moore will handle Kick return during the season.

Remember PP21 trying to go hero mode in NFC champs vs Carolina? yeah, I dont ask for much on punt return. Just catch the ball and get it to our offense.

His game he “won” last year was a pathetic 13/22 for 105 yards 1 TD/1 INT game where the Giants D and running game carried him. He’s an average at best back up QB and probably leans towards the lower end of backups. He’s better than Strevler without a doubt, but what are you basing your argument that he’s >>>>>>>>>> Hundley. They’re pretty much a wash, IMO. Colt was a little better passer, but Hundley had better wheels that could be used to get yards.

we’re talking about a guy who’s got a woeful 30:43 TD to turnover ratio who’s got a career QB rating of 75. He’s a dink and dunker who’s never distinguished himself from other run of the mill backups.

and can you show me when he “played well for stretches”? I can’t ever remember this. But maybe you can show me where I’m wrong.
I’m too lazy to look up stats but living here in Maryland, I do remember years back when he went on a little spree with the redskins where he looked good in comparison to the other trash quarterbacks they had been trotting out there that year.

I know the game (W/L) doesn't matter, but you always want your team to look good. That said, I don't see how our defense can, based on the injuries to our DL. Just about everybody is out and we're going with "guys off the street". I just hope that some/all of our top six DL are back by the start of the season.

Man if we were only fifth in penalties on ST think how bad we had to be in one (or both) other aspects of the game to be a leader in overall penalties. Yeach.

Micah Parsons is FAST.

Hope the Oline holds up so Kyler doesnt have to run.
Parsons might be fast, but in tomorrow night's game, I doubt that Kyler will be doing much running. Or, even much playing. After a single series in the first half, I think we'll see the Real McCoy at QB.

Here is what I will be looking at in tomorrow night's game.
1. Not the OL or DL, since I can't distinguish bad play from good play in the trenches. I will check the stats for tackles, sacks, etc., after the game. And hope to see some PFF grades for the OL, or at least read what others say about the OL.
2. McCoy vs. Streveler.
3. The not Top Four WR's.
4. The KR and PR guys.
5. ST Gunners.
6. The DB's.
7. Any hope at TE.
8. After #2 and #6, who are the next/best RB's.
9. Size of the crowd and their enthusiasm.

Let the games begin!!

Most of what I want to see is an elimination of stupid mistakes, mostly penalties. As there isn't a lot to take out of the play on the field, unless it's glaringly obvious, let's see how disciplined we are. That will tell us a great deal about KK and his team moving forward.
Mmm, we started undisciplined and we finished the season undisciplined
Its a coach thing, and we have the same coaches
What do u expect?

I agree, and I think its the most important thing we need to correct. If we can't, then KK has to go.

You look at what a coach like Monty did with the suns...preaching fundamentals, attitude, and most of all accountability. It doesn't mean players can't/won't make mistakes, but those mistakes are acknowledged and corrected so hopefully they don't continue to happen. It completely changed the culture of the Suns, and led them to be competitive night in/night out.

I firmly believe that discipline, and the ability to avoid stupid penalties accounts for about +/- 2 games per year. If this team wasn't the most penalized team in the league last year, we would have made the playoffs.

If I was MB, I would have had an offseason meeting with this message "I know everyone wants to win as many games as possible, that isn't up for debate. If we are in the top 5 most penalized teams this year, you will all be fired".

there were certain types of penalties that were the drivers of NFL average vs top 5 for the Cardinals. Aside from the two noted below, the Cards looked like other NFL teams:

1. pre snap penalties.
2. Defensive secondary penalties (holding, illegal contact, PI)

im skeptical of "discipline" as the main or only problem. if that were the case, it should show up all over the place.

on pre snap, i think there are problems that need to be solved starting with how the play gets called in. For a team that likes to play fast, too many times they are constantly up against the play clock.

further, i wonder about K1s cadence.

the secondary is easier to understand. both P2 and Kirkpatrick are grabby players and the team plays lots of man --- that may go down this year, but i think any team that plays lots of man will probably log lots of secondary penalties

Colt McCoy has actually won football games in the NFL and played well for stretches.

No optimism here. These are facts. He won an NFL game last year starting in place of Daniel Jones.

McCoy>>>>>>>Hundley/Strevler.

I wish the Cardinals took backup quarterback more seriously.

At least McCoy should be an upgrade for Streveler.

Preseason has taught me that it does not reveal much of anything except on scant athletic ability and hardly ever gives a fair impression of the team as a whole. I do not know how many times the teams are night and day once the real bullets fly. You have a 17 game season now and teams are not going to risk putting anyone out there for much of anything

I’m expecting us to get run over. The Cowboys played last week which I believe will be beneficial. 27-13.

Too many errors in pre season for that many points I think. All seem to be low scoring games.

I want to see Ward and how he looks. The guy has size and more of a traditional back if Connor cannot go during the regular season. The thought of relying on just two smaller backs like Eno and Chase does not bode well and do not know if Ito has the same burst, though Ward does run rather upright
