Why can't it be Avery?
...Dallas wants our coach, why can't we want theirs?
Because he's an actual coach who would require to be paid as such.

What mess? JC continually tried to put a winning product on the floor which is more then I can say for half the owners in the NBA.
Sarver is the one that decided to trade away picks for cash. Sarver is the one that decided to start this trend of not signing players (while staying under the cap).
Perhaps we could hire KT as a player/coach, then we could afford to keep him if half his salary was for coaching and not counted against the cap.

It's amazing how Sarver continues to get blamed for cleaning up the Colangelo's mess.
Sarver had to sell those picks because of the position that the Colangelos put him in. You have to go back to the year Bryan won executive of the year. The blunder of a decision to sell the Deng/Iguolda pick, and then signing Q-Rich instead of using that money on Joe Johnson, ended up being a collossal blunder that put the organization in the horrible position that it is today.
You cannot honestly sit there and say Sarver hasn't tried to put a winning team on the floor. Every year that Sarver has owned the team we have made the playoffs. Every year we've been the talk of title contention. JC never brought us a title. He's accomplished nothing more than Sarver, except he has a few more years behind him. Stop giving him a free pass.
You'll always support it. You might not like it, but you'll support it.man, i really dislike the suns right now. I gotta tell you, if the Clippers somehow get the first pick and get Derrick Rose, I may just try to become a Clipper fan. I mean, no one can seriously accuse me of being a bandwaggoner by choosing to be a fan of a team run by Donald Sterling and they do play in what is essentially my home city now that I've been living here for 8 years and will do so for the rest of my life.
I just don't know if can continue to support a Sarver team until he supports it himself.
What was the mess? Now I know that Colangelo used a lot of money to make the D-Backs competitive and that probably cost him his position as the CEO of the Diamondbacks but all of those things that he did were in order to be competitive. I can't fault a guy for trying to win.
Please tell me these radio guys we're giggling...or trying to be funny...Radio Guys throwing Around Vinny Del Negro
So Sarver didn't sign Joe Johnson why? Because it was going to cost him an extra 5 Million. We would not have been over the cap. Sarver was in wallet shock over buying the team and spending money on Steve.
What about the picks he sold? We would not have been over the cap had we used them. We would not have had the bench problems we have. We would not have had to get lucky with players being cut by other teams.
You buy this team for a record 401 million dollars, that's the most paid for a sports franchise EVER.
i'd stop watching the suns.
and everyone knows why DA hasn't been fired yet, right? 8.5 million reasons. They're going to strong arm him into quitting because they don't want to bite the bullet.
Poor decisions with regards to Diaw and Banks ended up strapping the Suns for cash.
we sold picks before we ever signed these guys.
Which picks? If you're going to snipe try and be specific. We've sold picks both before and after we signed these guys so I'm not really sure what your point is.
The celtic and lakers are also over the cap I believe, and they have won a few, correct?Teams that are over the cap generally don't win Championships. Just ask Dallas and New York.
the picks we sold at the draft the same offseason we signed Banks and Diaw. Sorry, didn't mean I had to literally spell it out for you. I assumed you had enough intelligence to understand what I was talking about.
and my point is this - you were responding to someone who question why we sold picks and you're answer was because DA put us in a financial bind with the Diaw and Banks signings. Thus I questioned why we were selling picks before we even signed those guys? Get it Sarver?

So I beg to differ. JC tried to put a winning product on the floor. Sarver is trying not to screw it up. Bang up job he is doing so far.
Except over three and one-half decades of a good record during the season and dismissal in the playoffs. There was no mess to clean up from Jerry.

Also, the team was in a good place from both a profit perspective and salary perspective when Sarver and his investment group purchased the team. Jerry had to meet the requirements set forth by the investment group for the sale to even take place. So from Sarver's standpoint the team was in great shape when he took it. So the team wasn't a mess in Sarver's eyes when it was bought.
Sarver isn't making good basketball decisions. He is making financial decisions with selling off picks regardless if it's healthy for the franchise. That policy didn't start until he took over the team. The picks that were sold before the sell of the franchise were at the direction of the investment group on keeping costs down until the sale was complete. That was well documented in the media.
