Same guy from my previous post is saying Bowles is well versed in the 3-4 and will stick with it in all likelihood.

I honestly have no knowledge, but everything I read about Bowles was 3-4, so sorry if I came off that way.

Not at all. Happy you posted it and made me dig.

If I remember the Dolphins were a 3-4 team during Parcells time up till last year.

And shame on me for missing the guy was an assistant head coach, and iterm head coach at one point.

I must have gotten him confused with someone else. He certainly has a decent resume.

I still say that I would rather have a great offense in possibly a few years and a decent defense...than a great defense now and poor offense. It is an offensive driven league for the most part. I will still miss Horton and I wish him a ton of success
*cough* 2008 & 2009 seasons *cough*

Wow, some people need to back away from the ledge. It's a good thing I'm only a social work student right now, because social workers are mandated reporters if they feel someone is a danger to themselves. I'd have to report half the board if I were a social worker...the other half can just go star on Broadway...they love drama queens there :D

it is fun watching the meltdown on here like Horton was God. Wouldn't surprise me if he doesn't end up being a DC this year. Most team staffs are set. His temper tantrum won't look good around the league either.

I dont blame the team for not hiring him, I dont blame Horton for being irritated by the process, but this end result is extremely disappointing. Especially with the hire of Todd Bowles. That aspect is revolting. There may have not been a more inept unit in the entire league, especially when roster talent is factored in, than the defense he ran in Philly. An absolutely embarrassing swap for the Cardinals.

Gimme a break. That was Castillo's baby. He came in late and it improved. Anyine lumping that debacle on bowles isnt putting the blame where it belongs.

Again, he took over the defense in November by that point the team was a lost cause. Maybe he isn't a good DC, maybe he is. Lets see how it all plays out.

Yep, he just sealed his fate as an "undesirable head coach" candidate.

The smart thing would've been to suck it up, play out his contract, and be a free agent next year.

Bowles was forced to run a 4-3 scheme he took over midseason. He's a 3-4 guy. The Eagles were in a tailspin already at that point. I wouldn't read too much into it.

It actually got worse with Bowles, waaaaaaaaay worse. His hiring is... I dont really have words for it. He made Castillo (who was a joke) look good.

By taking over a D and a scheme he didn't know mid-season? Eh. I don't like the move but I'm gonna withhold judgement until I see how it plays out
