Christian Kirk would fall into that category. He's being recruited by schools like Florida St, Auburn Oklahoma and Oregon.

Like AzLen mentioned, Christian Kirk is certainly on the national level. He's a high 4 star and even 5 star on some services.

The floodgates for local recruits for ASU I think haven't opened because the local guys know ASU best. They've seen the lack of consistency, the perpetually slipping back into mediocrity, etc. It may take them longer than the outsiders to buy into Graham.

Last year ASU won their division and 10 games, a good start. If they can do well this year and win 9+, I think they'd be well on their way to turning it around in local recruiting.

Totally forgot about Kirk. He would be an astronomical get for ASU but he is a pipe dream. Probably goes to UCLA or Notre Dame.

ASU always has a legitimate shot at Saguaro kids. Both Graham and RR have actually done a much better job than their predecessors at building pipelines here in the Valley. That being said the bar wasn't exactly set that high by Stoops, Erickson, Koetter, etc. and there's still much work to be done.

1. Bryce Perkins is a well-regarded dual-threat QB whose development this year will signal whether or not he stays at QB. If any of you remember his father, Bruce, you know what kind of ridiculous body he could grow into. It's a pretty big deal for ASU.

2. Perkins commitment is a big deal because it's a Hamilton kid. They need to start locking down that program. This is a big start.

3. It's not the 2014 class, but the 2015 class still has better-than-usual talent. Besides Kirk, there's Paul Lucas, Brian Lewerke and Keenan Walker. There's also another Peat -- Cassius, a linebacker -- with whom ASU has their best shot at landing someone from that family. There's also Caleb Peart, Perkins' teammate at Hamilton, who shares a lot of similarities to Carl Bradford. There are at least 10 recruits worth ASU's efforts this year in the state.

Perkins is from Chandler HS, but he is the only Chandler QB to ever beat Hamilton.

JC TE Raymond Epps from Az Western committed to ASU. I can't find much info on him. ASU was getting a bit thin in the TE area and Graham actually uses TEs, so its nice to fill a hole.

When I saw the video I couldn't help but think of Grady Hurst, a small speedy QB who Danny White beat out for QB in the New Mexico game back in 1971.

Danny White threw for six touchdowns in that game and a legend was born.

He looks D'Anthony Thomasesque

Looks like we will be stacked at QB for a few years, competition for the starting position should be fierce after Taylor Kelly moves on.

ASU landed two 3 star offensive tackles from the Southeast Valley today, Cade Cote and Steve Miller.

Cote had offers from both Oregon schools, Colorado, Boise St, UofA, K-State & Nevada.

Miller had offers from UofA, Boise St, BYU, Colorado, SDSU, Utah & Washington.

Not superstar, immediate impact type guys, but thats OK. Its great to turn around the recent trend of every local offensive lineman leaving town. Hopefully these guys can redshirt, gain some size/strength and make an impact down the line.

Seems like we are adding a lot more local kids than usual. That's a great trend. Always good to have some Arizona kids to go with the others from Louisiana... ;-)

I agree but the real test comes with the top guys like Kirk, Peat, Peart, etc. Keeping those guys in state should be a priority for ASU.

Two 4 Star Linebackers commit to ASU, Kerchink!
http://www.azcentral.com/story/spor...linebackers-commit-to-arizona-state/17703715/

Khaylan Thomas of Etiwanda (Calif.) High and Davon Durant of Butler Community College in El Dorado, Kan., committed to ASU, giving the Sun Devils a Top 25 class according to one recruiting service.

Thomas (6-foot and 217 pounds) -- considered one of the top 2015 linebackers in the West -- chose ASU over Oklahoma, Oregon, Oregon State and Arizona.

Durant (6-2, 240 pounds) de-committed from South Carolina to commit to the Sun Devils He had reported scholarship offers from schools such as Florida State, Clemson, Georgia, Texas A&M and Washington. According to Rivals, Durant is the nation's top junior-college linebacker and the No. 8 overall junior-college prospect. According to 247 Sports, he is expected to enroll in January.

ASU hosted 5-star LB/RB Osa Masina over the weekend and was in attendance for the big win against Stanford. It would be amazing to land him in addition to Thomas & Durant but I feel he is UCLA's to lose. UCLA already snagged Cassius Peat and I fear they are the biggest threat to stealing Christian Kirk away from ASU. Damn West Hollywood because the location and campus are what really appeals to these kids, UCLA's season is going down the drain but yet top recruits are still committing.

My hope for the rest of ASU's 2015 class:
WR Christian Kirk - Must get to show in state kids that ASU can still appeal to blue chip in state kids. Would replace Jalen Strong who will bolt to NFL.

CB Xavier Lewis - LSU soft commit who is visiting first week of November with a large group of other big time recruits (Kirk, Irwin, Wicker, etc.). He is an elite CB which is always a need for ASU.

WR Trent Irwin - ASU is stocked at WR but he is a teammate of Brady White and is a stud.

DE Joseph Wicker or Shareef Miller - Would love to have Wicker but it comes down to ASU & UCLA, Wicker is a CA kid. Miller is similar in size to commit Jalen Bates. He is long and lean at 6'5 220 but he should be a force in a couple of years as he gets stronger plus ASU has a couple of guys from last year's recruiting class ahead of him should he commit.

ASU will have a smaller class this year (probably won't get near 20) but with guys like Khaylan Thomas, Brady White, Jaason Lewis & possibly one more 4 -star this is going to end up a Top 25 class.

Also read somewhere that Snoop's son is taking a recruiting visit to ASU. He is apparently a 4 star recruit.

He is visiting Halloween weekend. Cool that he is visiting but I cannot see he going anywhere but USC, Snoop is too big of a fan and is surely steering his son in that direction.
