One of my biggest problem with Reddick is that he was a walk on at Temple. I get that players develop at different stages but, other than being a nice story, rarely do you go from walk-on to being top 5 rated player on a teams draft board. I know he broke a leg his senior year in high school but if he was ultra-talented, as a top first round pick should be, he would not have had to walk on at Temple. I think Arians and the fact it was Temple colored their grade of him.

Because BA is loyal to a college team he coached in the 80s and from which he was fired?

I do not like any school whose motto is Temple 'tough'... that usually means you do not quit when you are getting your ass kicked on a daily basis

You mean the school that gave him his first HC job. Yes, Arians has an affinity for Temple and he should. I'm not saying that's the sole reason they picked Reddick.

Just be glad the York College of PA doesn't have a football program or else BA and SK would be drafting players from there as it's where they are both originally from.

Foster is a small, but quick and decisive ILB. The main question with him is whether he can hold up physically.

Reddick is an OLB and could possibly be a SS with his speed and cover ability.

There is really no way to compare them because they play different positions.

Yeah I loved Foster in college but I do get why NFL teams were concerned. Beyond the off field stuff, as you said he's small. At least twice yesterday he came up to make big hits and then struggled to get up dinged from the hit. You have to wonder how long he'll hold up.

Jurecki indicated that Foster plummeted because of both character and injury red flags. It's not as if the Cardinals made a misinformed decision to take Reddick over Foster.

As I was saying....

Kinda surprising that the Niners would roll the dice again on a pass rusher with character issues, after what they went through with Aldon Smith. All the talent in the world, and an absolute train wreck of a human being off the field.

Actually yes he did.
Actually he’s mike mamula part two. He was drafted at a position he’s never played from a small school due to his physical attributes. He was a late riser up draft boards. He had a non-impact rookie year. Never should have been a first round pick. Might eat crow on this one. But the current weight of evidence points to no crow.

Foster arrested for marijuana posession. Already entered the league in substance abuse programme. Facing suspension. At least it seems Keim got this one right, Reddick over Foster.

Yeah but Foster played 20 more snaps last year

Really short-sighted statement there, trying to present the argument that Foster was the ONLY alternative to Reddick. He wasn't, by a long shot. Keim got it 100 percent WRONG in taking the zero impact Reddick.

Dude relax. He was drafted to play ML and when Golden went down they moved him again.

Give these guys time man. You can obviously look at him and see the skills he needs to grasp the game mentally and it will come

We hope. We haven't seen anything at all from him yet.

hell he was just starting to show signs of relaxing at ILB... was even starting to draw mild praise on this board...go back and check the thread

either way, I supported Reddick over Foster before the draft and still do today... HR will be fine as long as they stop moving him around for a while.

Foster is an oft-concussed broke shoulder head case... no thank you. HR will still be in the NFL 8 years from now
