Foster all but said, “I’m undraftable” last offseason.

It wasn't Foster v Reddick; it was clear top talent that we passed on v overrated, positionless Reddick. Foster is just in the same position as Reddick, and thus the comparisons.

Mark my words: the Cardinals will rue the day they didn’t move up 1 freaking spot to draft Deshaun Watson. F Foster and HR. Not drafting Deshaun Watson will haunt the Cardinals for the next decade.

How do you know that the Cardinals had the opportunity to move up?

Excited to see what this new defensive staff can do with an athletic talent like Reddick and glad they didnt take Reuben "Aldon Smith" Foster!

The Cardinals never officially said that but.....

That neither confirms nor denies the Cardinals were comfortable standing pat.

Bottom line is you cannot predict trades as it takes two to tango. GMs have said that 90-95% of all proposed trades are rejected and never make it to the media. In short, teams are always talking with each other.

Probably in the minority, but I still think he’ll live up to his draft billing.

Gotta love how a Niners loser gets popped and we still know how to turn their misfortune into complaining about our own front office

When the shoe fits...

Problem is, people want to crow that we made the 'right' call, as if it was him or Reddick, with no other options. Well, no, see, there was a whooooole draft pool to choose from, not a second-round at best project pick...

I mean I am certainly not here to argue with you on this point, I just am having more fun laughing at the 49ers for once again York'ing the character issues.

everybody knew we were going LB with that pick.... I was on board with Reddick...still am... but they need to leave him at ILB...moving the kid around in his rookie season just inhibits his learning

That was the premise of the OP. That was what this thread is about

Your first sentence would be a damning statement about Keim in the draft.

Who knows how it plays out long term, but this what happens when you draft players to play a totally different position vs the position they have spent their career playing.

This was the premise of the entire thread. One player was showing out as an ILB and the other was learning how to play LB. What really has changed other than they look like they were both drafted too high instead of just one of them.
