Hendrix did everything he possibly could to help himself reportedly, blocking shots, rebounding well, scoring points both inside and outside, running the floor and playing strong defense. This is not the first strong report we’ve received from a workout he’s been in-- others have mentioned how much better he’s shooting free throws and mid-range jumpers, as well as the confidence he exudes and how impressive he is off the court as well. As we’ve discussed before, Hendrix’s numbers and overall profile compares favorably with Carlos Boozer’s at the same age, and even though we might not ever become an all-star like Boozer, he could develop into a Paul Millsap type steal if he falls into the second round.

Here is profile by nbadraft.net

Strengths: Hendrix possesses a great frame and strength for PF position ... Has an NBA body minus an inch or so ... He is very difficult to defend with his back to the basket;due his tremendous core strength ... Uses his body very well to establish good position on the low-post and seal off his defender ... Most of his game is based on the low-post and around the rim (nice touch inside the paint and good hands) ... Hendrix is a very good finisher around the basket (60 % FG) and gets many put-backs and tip-ins ... He is an aggressive player offensively and not afraid of attacking the basket ... High basketball IQ and fundamentally sound ... Recently improved his post moves and his body has shown improvement ... Has an effective right hand hook-shot; very patient with the ball in his hands ... His rebounding ability is what makes him even better (good timing and technique boxing out). Great anticipation on missed shots ... Unselfish player with solid instincts and passing ability on the low-post (makes smart decisions)... Solid defensively, Hendrix is using his strength to keep his opponents away from the basket ... Has a huge 7'3 wingspan allowing him to play bigger than his 6'8 height, and huge hands.

Weaknesses: Defensively he struggles with the quickness of other power forwards and his lack of height could give him some problems ... Standing at just 6-8, he doesn’t possess great athleticism to make up for it ... Hendrix doesn’t feel comfortable stepping out on the perimeter and guarding quicker and more athletic players, his lateral speed is not good ... Needs to improve face-up the basket game and find his go-to move inside ... Can’t pick-and-pop because of his shooting ability is still inconsistent ... Lacks a great form on his shot, he brings the ball back behind his head which causes him to have a slow release ... Hendrix must work on developing his mid-range jump shot. Lack of explosiveness, mobility and lateral quickness limits him on both ends ... Has to improve his first step while driving to the rim ... Free-throw percentage is only 53%, far below where it needs to be ... Has to work on finishing better with his left hand ...

He's generally viewed as mid second round pick, but like Dorsey may go higher because of his playing style.

Irish, you need not post a new draft you read every other day. All you're doing is pasting a profile with a one sentence half-opinion. Youre not even contributing anything to it, it's just lazy profile pasting.

Put it in the DRAFT PROSPECTS thread perhaps?

I did not dump on the McGee thread? Are you sure? Do you want to check it again and see who responded and with a link to what thread? Go ahead, I'll wait.

And the Ty Lawson thread was a NEWSWORTHY discussion, having to do with non-basketball charges against him, which later proved to be even MORE newsworthy as he dropped out of the draft.

You regurgitated a website on another website and contributed nothing to make it discussion-worthy.

Are you defending your right to not post stuff in the draft prospects thread? Do you think I am singling you out for some reason? I dont get the point of your half-thought-out response. I do know Richard freaking Hendrix is NOT worth his own thread, and is pushing down other threads that may even have some substance.

Do you honestly think this is worthy of its own discussion? A second rounder no one has heard of that is a lesser player than Dorsey?

Half your thread creations belong in the blog sections, and the other half belong in the draft prospects thread. Your activity in the offseason has shot up a million fold from when the suns actually played, and it would be nice if you organized your posts since you seem to be the clear victor of the Most Threads Created In The Offseason title.

Don't take my response personally, take it into consideration. And tell me where your damn pubs are in AZ.

So what? If you want post nazi'ing go register yourself at phxsuns.net. As long as you don't curse at people here the mods could give a crap what you post as long as it's basketball related. They've proven this time and time again. I doubt the fact that he creates new threads 5 times a day keeps people from reading substantive posts in other threads.

Nothing you said refuted my comments.

However, "So What" is always a solid response.

I think Hendrix will be the next Boozer with more defense. If he is there at #48 I'd take him in an instant.

Hendrix is raned 50th by nbadraft.net and 36the by Draft Express. (* is next to the international players.)

24 Thompson (DX at 34)
26 Anderson (DX at 33)
29 Ajinca (DX at 23)*
30 Jawai (DX at 28)*
31 Pekovic (DX at 36)*
32 Erden (DX 41)*
38 Asik (DX 31)*
43 Dorsey (DX at 40)
44 DJ White (DX at 32)
45 Hardin (DX at 29)
48 Tomix (DX 38)*
50 Hendrix (DX at 35)

A lot is going to depend on how some of the Euro's are rated. This is widely viewed as a year when guys are going to get picked to leave overseas.

My read on it is that there is a very good chance that a useful backup is going to be available int he 30's, but it is far less likely the Suns will get a guy they want into the 40's.
