I said I wasn't going to whine but I lied. I was initially impressed with the media's reaction to Sarver stating his need to resign JJ, it made me feel like hey the media gets it and this is becoming a real sports town that does not accept teams being able to do as they please with no reprisals.

But now we have many media members defending Sarver, the trendy thing in the media is it is unfair to be hard on him because apparently he had no clue owning an NBA team would cost him money. The premise of the argument is that Sarver paid 400+ million for the Suns, gave Nash 65 million and according to the media he was told it was 50M, signed Q for 40+M and had no clue that players like Joe would cost him 50M+. And if the Suns are good then he has to pay more..
So apparently there is a phoenix media consensus it is this huge shock that owning an NBA team actually costs money beyond the initial price tag.

So to recap Sarver's one year legacy
watched JC work over Cuban and sign Nash
watched JC work over LA to sign Q
did halftime and 3rd Q shows with the gorilla
kicked out baseball players for rooting against the Suns
Did the chicken
Raise ticket prices
Let JJ get away.

Yeah I'd give that a strong F

so what is next is the media going to tell us that Sarver is not at fault for letting Amare go because he didn't know Amare would cost him a lot of money? Poor Boobie foam fingers didn't know because he did no research.

Sorry I am not buying it. This guy deserves to get ripped and we need to let him know this nickel and dime crap is not acceptable or we may lose the cornerstone to the franchise. Sure JJ is not the end of the world SG's are more replaceable but I am thinking long term here and that is Amare we can't let this small time foam waving UofA loving loser ship Amare out for some nobody like Diaw and protected picks. Call the shows and let him know we suns fans do not accept futility I mean I haven't heard anything about Amare's deal, have you? My guess is any day we will hear something from Saver mouth saying they have postponed any deals to the beginning of camp.

it's time to send bozo a message it is our responsibility!

thank you and sorry for the rant I do it because I actually care.

lol at the title of the thread

AND

i'm glad to see your passion for the team come through. we only hate because we love. the only other option is indifference.

we just must come to grips with it. chances are the phoenix suns will be weaker in 06 than in 05. the suns long-term prospects took a big hit today as well.

HOWEVER, we still have stat and the white wizard on our team, and we'll still have an entertaining product to watch, which is better than what 70% of nba teams can offer nowadays.

I'm with you, Tree.

No way in hell I let Sarver dodge the bullet on this one.

Our shooting guards are gone. There is no spin you can put on this.

I wouldn't be surprised if B. Colangelo is next to go, because you can be damn sure he had no say in this.

And don't forget that somewhere along the way Chapman was a casualty of this regime as well.

By the way, you forgot to add the other nickel and dime moves that have been a part of the Sarver era: trading away draft picks, refusing to have enough minimum players to fill out a squad, etc...

Let's face it...JJ will become Dice all over again. In two years he will regret his decision...the main reason he probably wants to go to Atlanta is that family is just over the border in Bama. If this all goes down in a negative tone for us, we will rejoice when Atlanta holds up the bottom in the standings. If JJ gets hurt...as did Dice....we will smirk in the background and say from our tongue... that's too bad....a nice guy.

If many of you remember, we were all talking two years ago to trade JJ or even Marion ( I really cringed on that one (Marion) so many of you supported!). JJ blossomed when Penny left, and when he leaves the Suns he will find out that it stinks to always lose.

I don't get this thing about players wanting to be close to family when determining where to play. There is a history of this becoming too much of a distraction versus being benefit.

Stoudamire in Portland
Andre Miller in LA
SAR in Atlanta
Marbury in NY

JJ is going to find the going tough to balance family and work, especially when the work environment is going to wear on him. Sure the money will help but the family demands will have its affect.
