Have to agree here. Nash can give Amare easier buckets. Amare is averaging 21.1 PPG (career) and Nash is averaging 8 APG (Career).

You should only consider Nash last four years - or the three when Amare was healthy, when he averaged over 11 assists a season. Interesting fact, he had the least number of dimes in 05-06, the year Amare went down, unfortunatelly there is no such statistics, but anybody who watched the games can tell that over 50% of Nash's assists were to Amare and there is no assist for FT's but its clear that Amare went to the line a lot because of that almost perfect pick n roll with Nash.

I wont say that Nash made Amare dominant, but as nowagimp stated Steve helped STAT an awful lot when he was a one dimensional player. I have to add that to be a real dominant force Amare still has to be a better post up player, but its good to see signs of development in that area of his game too.

I will give you that Nash in previous years gave Amare more easy buckets on the pick and roll. However, Nash can't help Amare dunk over people. Nash can't help Amare get around screens and go up for the ball.

Amare more so last year and this year has developed other shots. Again, this goes back to did Nash make Amare dominant or make Amare better? I don't think one player can make another player dominant. I think one player can make another players job easier. There is a difference.

Nash helped amare become all NBA before he had a perimeter shot anyone would defend. ANd yes Nash helped amare dunk over people. How? By drawing the defense in the lane area(2-3 players surround nash), and slipping the ball to amare with the defense out of position to do anything about it. IMO nash(and the DA system) did greatly help amare become dominant when he was a one dimensional player. Now, amare can carry the load as his skill sets are more complete. ALot of people dont realize that amare scored alot in transition. He is a tougher guard in transition than in the half court as the help defense is typically not as good in transition. A player that is as explosive and fast as amare at the '4' is going to be more dominant in transition.

Man, you guys seriously doubt Amare's talent! Amare will be all NBA with or w/o Nash. Nash makes it easier for him to get good stats but also hinders his development by making it too easy for him! As nowagimp acknowledged, Amare has the talent to develop on games he previously didn't have. It's about time the team give him chances as many as possible to apply those skills in game situations. Nash wanting to run + Shaq demanding the ball for lowpost makes this impossible!

I am talking about the physical act of leaping and dunking over people. Nash didn't contribute to Amare's athleticism. Nash doesn't help Amare be more aggressive when driving one on one with guys. Lets also not forget that on bunch of those pick and rolls, it split the D but Amare still had to drive to to the bucket.

Again, what your describing is Nash's ability to give Amare easier buckets. Nash doesn't make other players dominant. He makes other players who already have talent better by giving them easier and more open shots. I will buy that he makes Amare more dominant....but not dominant. You either are or are not.
