This is true... and worse, he is stubborn as heck about it. In a couple years, Rockets fans will be just as weary of him as Suns fans were tem years ago.

You mean when they get tired of winning?

They'll talk about how he wasted Harden's prime and wonder why he couldn't go farther with a team with Paul and Harden. They're fun to watch, when they're not slaughtering your favorite team, but they're too small for the postseason. I know they have Capela but he can't do it alone. I liked how the announcers brought up Steven Hunter in the first quarter. D'Antoni can get a lot out of bigs but when guys like that end up playing against legit bigs like Pau, Aldridge, etc in the playoffs they're out of their element and get exposed.

I guess the Thunder game and this game back-to-back should remind us not to overreact based off of small sample sizes.

Hopefully we continue to trend in a positive direction over time while adding more talent in the offseason.

Best case scenario unless the Suns can make a key trade or get lucky in the lottery.

I agree but I think this game was a bit of a wash since they had so much time off. They're better than what is out there right now.

Definitely. They're better than they showed today, but probably not as good as they looked against the Thunder. Hopefully, that game was a glimpse into the future.

Not only that, but they were also missing three rotation players. Suns are not a deep team to begin with, and they were missing their best point guard, their best power forward, and their best defender.

I thought Alec Peters was going to get another score before the Suns turned it over. He finished with 5 points 3 assists and 0 rebounds.

He has a nice shooting touch.

With our injuries, as well as the Rockies, no conclusions should be drawn from tonight as far as our consistent development.

No, when they get tired of falling on their asses in the conference finals to the same team... over and over again.

I'm not sure which team you are talking about. The Spurs were really good when the Suns played them.

Outside of three missed layups, Bender played well.

Bender needs to work on in his inside game throughout the postseason. He's got a good shot from outside and that's coming along fine but the misses inside are embarrassing. He's shooting just 33% from 3-10 feet, which is awful.

I think Bender can get there if he adds some more weight and muscle.

Physically he is not ready to play inside or maybe that is what I'm hoping.

It just may be that Bender is a very tall Guard.

While I agree that he needs to add some weight, his missed layups were the result of not taking his time, and lack of confidence. He keep trying to get the shot off as quickly as possible. He is 7'1 with long arms. Take your time, young fellow, nobody is going to consistently block your shots.

This is actually what gives me hope for Bender. When he starts converting inside he can be really good.

Missed layups should be curable.

And the Warriors are really good now... and the Spurs are also still pretty good. And either one of them will probably continue to brick wall the Rockets as long as they are playing D'Antoni's patented anti-defense/short rotation style... that has and never will win any meaningful playoff series ever.

He may be a tall guard but that doesn't excuse missing so many shots inside. If he's taking them then he should be making around 50%, someone his size who isn't getting their shots blocked should be shooting those at a much higher percentage. He's only shooting 50% from 0-3 feet, add that to the 33% from 3-10 feet, and he's 0% from 10-16 feet and that says something about him, not how he's being used.

I'm getting those stats from Basketball-Reference, here is the link. Here is a look at them, for those interested.
