There are 3 important times of the season for any team.

Free Agency

Draft

Games

- Cards can not do a damn thing because of his contract with Fitz...

I was thinking this team was moving forward, my hopes were high...now it's back to 2000. Going nowhere as all the teams sign all the players they want.

2 best guards in the NFL - Hutch and Faneca....we could go after him if we didn't have a ******** contract on Fitzgerald.

instead Leinart is going to have to dodge LB's and hope his other bones are solid.

I hate that the Cards can do nothing during FA.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111

What a surprising thread. :bigyawn:

Can't we get the "hate Graves" category re-instated on the big board?

Just consider Larry Fitz your BIG FA signing for this year. If it happens. We'll need to address Pace' position if we lose him. It'd be bonus if we kept both.

I don't speak up often, but consistently having to consider re-signing your own players as your "big signing" when you've gone no better than 8-8 in ten years isn't really acceptable. Losing players that were essential to winning games isn't going to take us to the playoffs.

I'm not expecting Faneca, Samuel, Turner, or anyone major. But why are we still leaning on the tactics that have kept us from posting a winning season? Ugh.

The most important word in that sentence is playoffs and apparently those players didn't help.

Rod Graves Doing His job

Rod Graves,
Thanks sincerely for doing a great job. I know that you know more about being a NFL GM than anyone else posting on this board including myself. Since I have enough trouble taking care of doing my own job ( which takes up plenty of my time) and knowing that you have more experience in an NFL front office than anyone else on this board ( including me), I,m sure you don't have time for people that know absolutely nothing about what your job entails( including me ), telling you what to do. I trust that you really don't give a rat,s ass about what I think and I don't blame you at all. I know that people are always going to tell you how to spend the team's money, but since it's not their money it really doesn't matter if they like it or not. The person that matters the most is the boss, and if he likes what you are doing, more power to you brother. I have watched the Cardinals for almost 35 years and you are the best GM and have accomplished more with what you have to work with than all of the other GM's that have preceded you by far. Keep up the good work, I'm behind you 100%.

I think he was with the organization (under Bob Ferguson) but I could be wrong for some of those guys.

Either way I blame him for everything.....

You know he was up on the grassy knoll in November '63, right?;)

By the way Mr. Graves, I know what it's like to have people telling you what to do that have no idea what they are talking about. I just mind my own business and let the know- nothings pass on by.If you just ignore them, they will eventually find someone else to bitch at.

Those "know-nothings" are Graves' customers. If the "know-nothings" you're referring to were telling your boss how much you suck on a daily basis, how happy would he be?

Mr.Graves,
Remember one of the 1st rules in business is that some customers just aren't worth the trouble that they cause, a trouble customer is never satisfied so you just let them walk and take their troubles elsewhere.

Well, then this know-nothing and 40k other know-nothings will stop shelling out ridiculous amounts of time and energy to follow this team and your boy Rod will end up on the chopping block thanks to lack of revenue. Getting rid of Fitz before his prime for .60 on the dollar would be the biggest mistake in this franchise's history and they've made a career out of doing such.

Rod Graves defines incompetence. He had a four year window to re-negotiatie this deal and still screwed it up. I wouldn't let that moron watch my dog let alone run a football team.

I don't know if anybody ever welcomed you as a newbie. So welcome aboard.

There are 3 things that will get instant rebutal when posted:

Who's better, Fitz or Q?
Edge is all we need,
And Rod Graves does/does not do a good job.

Anyway newbies buy. I'll have a italian beef sandwich with green peppers , fries and a Corona.

:D

Well that's good because, since one player is currently eating 1/6 of the whole teams CAP space, if we don't re-sign him this year you can forget about any kind of free agents at all except a depth b/u or two MAYBE.

I don't want to get into all the details on Fitz' contract that got us here in this position today. But a new deal for him needs to be done before anything else can happen in FA, that's just realistic. Because we don't know how that deal is going to impact us this year (for the better) yet.

In the meantime we're not getting stronger and we are losing a starting SAM (Pace) in all liklihood.
