I think Mitch perfectly exemplifies a typical sports fan, but with the ability to write more eloquently.

After a bad game, bad coaching decision, bad roster move...he channels his emotions into observation and opinions he has to 'right the ship'.

When he likes something, such as seeing a glimmer of hope in a UDFA, he waxes poetic.

ROTB is a great venue for his fandom. And his bouncing from extremes is humorous, to me at least.

I wish people would stop posting Mitch's work. Go comment on his threads at ROTB. It seems petty to be doing this now that he's "Totally Out."
Yes x 100. I don’t care about SB Nation sites or other people who write from their mother’s basement. This is now Mitch’s domain.

I don't know why folks get so up in arms over linking to a ROTB article written by folks they don't like. Simply don't read it and stop poo-pooing people for posting on a message board (kind of the point of the forum).

Different take on Mitch and his latest piece.

He's a Cardinal fan and entitled to his opinion

His most recent piece is chock full of conjecture (i.e. mind reading) and Pollyanna-like wishful thinking. But I read it anyway (because it was about the Cardinals).

IMHO, Mitch has written better. When he's on his game, he thinks deeply, digs deep into the roster and does his homework.

Not this time, though.

Human nature being what it is - many of us (including Mitch) like to pretend we can predict the future. Alas, we can't - we're probably wrong more than half the time.

That includes Mitch, but it doesn't make him Public Enemy #1. So far as his articles are concerned: "They are what they are." Not always spot-on, but I'd rather have them than nothing.

I think many here view Mitch competitively and his presence makes the contributors on this board better writers (& the board itself that much better).

Yeah, I mean, I don't go there and don't care what it's in there personally

I’m glad it’s posted here. I don’t visit the other site and I like to read his take. Don’t always agree but it’s cardinal related.

I think I've been there maybe twice in the last few years. I don't bother. My head hurts enough already.

I am not as effusive in my praise of this press conference, but anything has to be an improvement of last year.

I know Mitch ruffled some feathers but I appreciate his optimism in this piece.

Yeah I agree. Why are people who hate Mitch commenting on a post that links his article? Just move along. If you want to read the article and comment on the substance, terrific! But criticizing posting his articles? Seems petty.

I'm sure it's more of why do we post random fan articles from other websites?

The TV show Downton Abbey was once described as a "soap opera written by a poet". That pretty much sums up Mitch.

Why did desert dawg get banned?

I think it was mostly because he would go ballistic, especially in the game threads breaking every forum rule.. Swearing, attacking others fandom etc. He got multiple chances but finally one of the mods had enough. I went down to halftime meet up once just to talk to him. Hard-core fan but just wouldn't play by forum rules.

I loved reading his takes but he got very weird and almost begged to be banned. I miss his posts.

Got it. I never would be in the game day thread back then, so I had no idea he was like that. I sold him tickets once and he was super nice, and i knew he was a hardcore fan, too bad that happened.

What about the guy that used to paint his face, that got kicked out of UoPs one game and said he'd never go back. Anyone know anything about him? Remember his name?

Is he getting paid there? I assumed he was either still being petulant for unknown reasons or maybe had some agreement not to post here if he was getting paid. But I agree - especially since I am fairly certain he still lurks here.

That was CardDan. Something happened at the stadium with SAFE. There was some sort of altercation in the stands and SAFE took the side of the opposing fan and ejected him. I met him too and he seemed like very mild mannered, soft spoken guy. I don't know if he swore off the Cards but said he dumped his season tickets and as far as I know, never went back.

Yeah definitely soft spoken and mild manner. I would see him at games for years. That was a sad situation because he was a super hardcore fan. Maybe he goes back unpainted

He was very nice. I met up with him at the Super Bowl. He said he could not afford to go and then the closer the game was the more the itch hit him so he bought a last minute plane flight and last minute tickets and paid 3-4 times what a planned trip would have cost, but he was there. It is sad what happened to him with SAFE and the opposing fans.
