There has been whisperings that Amare tore his retna against the Clippers and will be out for the season....I have nothing to document this other than whisperings inside the organization...Can anyone verify???

All I could really do is just quietly "lol" to myself if this were true.

Been listening to radio. No such reports. Also, the Suns would have checked out Amare immediately after the game. If there was an issue, I bet there would have been trade activity or there would be no point at standing pat.

Seems like someone is mad Amare wasn't traded and started this b.s.

Maybe to make suns fans wish they would have traded Amare.

I can't think it's an actual suns fan that would start such a rumor. But if it is, that's pretty sad.

Is it possible this happened, yeah, but it reeks of bull.

http://www.nba.com/suns/news/stoudemire_surgery_090220.html

Phoenix Suns forward Amar’e Stoudemire underwent successful surgery today to repair a partially detached retina in his right eye. The procedure was performed earlier this morning by Dr. Pravin Dugel at Spectra Eye Institute in Sun City, Arizona.
“We are very glad to hear that Amar’e should have a 100 percent recovery relative to his vision and his long-term prognosis is excellent,” said Suns President of Basketball Operations and General Manager Steve Kerr. “Obviously, it is very disappointing to lose him at this time. We are all very excited about the progress the team is making, but Amar’e’s health and the health of all our players is our number one concern.”
Stoudemire’s return to physical activity is estimated at eight weeks depending upon his healing process. Dr. Dugel stresses that recovery varies on a case-by-case basis.
Phoenix’s leading scorer for the third-straight season, Stoudemire has played in all 53 games and is averaging a team-high 21.4 points, 8.1 rebounds, 1.08 blocks and 2.0 assists. One of only two Suns to appear in every game (53) this season, Stoudemire became the youngest Suns player to reach 9,000 career points on Feb. 6. The Phoenix Suns host the Oklahoma City Thunder tonight at 7 p.m. at US Airways Center.

Just our kind of luck...

Well lets tank it and get a good lottery pick. Doubtful we can make the playoffs without Amare even if he can play the last ten season games or so.

Okay I have a question about this...Don't you think that the FO must have known about this yesterday? And if so, HOW DO YOU NOT DO SOMETHING BEFORE THE DEADLINE?!

What's funny is it seems like every playoff team has an injury to one of their key players:

Celtics - KG
Rockets - McGrady
Utah - Boozer
Spurs - Manure
Lakers - Bynum

and now Amare...

They couldn't trade him, he wouldn't have passed the physical, just like Tyson Chandler. This also begs the question: Did this stop Kerr from pulling the trigger on a trade?
